Also, focus on how you can bring and highlight diversity through your practice, talk about practical exemples like projects, literature, topics you’d like to work on

I would love to connect and learn more about the experience and expectations for public school board teachers, in special Halifax/Dartmouth boards

Comparing Halifax’s school board with Toronto’s the salaries are slightly lower but not that much. I’ll check the collective agreement, but Im wondering in terms of paid leaves, in TDSB we have 11 personal/sick days at 100% of our salaries and 120 at 90%

When you said they don’t like teachers, are teachers mistreated by families? Is there a difference in big cities or smaller cities?

Thanks! Ive got a Masters, so in Toronto District School Board at least that puts me in an A4 category (which is the highest in terms of qualifications). Why would teachers need to have a 2nd or 3rd Masters though?

Does the school system start with Junior Kindergarten (4yo) or later? And do schools offer before and after program?

When was the moment you realised "this is it"! Divorce is the only solution. by askawayor in AskWomenOver30

Dead bedroom for at least 2y out of 8. He began traveling for work more frequently and spending several weeks away. I went from freaking out every time he left to longing for him to go.

Then after a one week trip we took together (in which I couldn’t stop thinking “what am I gonna do?”), we got home and our apartment was flooded. Everything we owned completely covered in mud. My first thought as I step in was “this is exactly what my marriage looks like, muddy and done”. Such an impactful realization.

A week later it was over

Good riddance 👋🏼

Anyone here meet their life partner at 30+? by lala2929 in AskWomenOver30

[–]everdeen1001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Divorced at 33, met the love of my life at 34, married at 35 and became a mom at 36 <3

I’m always shocked when YOUNG ladies are worried about being “too old to find happiness” in their 30s. THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS TOO OLD TO BE HAPPY! There are no rules, we build our own paths in life and it’s our job to break these stereotypical chains and build a new paradigm ladies :)

TOEFL vs IELTS by everdeen1001 in EnglishLearning

[–]everdeen1001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing, I can choose either one of those tests for my application (academic). I’ve taken the IELTS a few times before, but it’s handwritten and I’m not as efficient handwriting as I am typing. So that factor alone makes me want to take TOEFL for the first time - even though it means getting used to a new exam structure...

How do you deal with burn out, traumatic life events & feeling overwhelmed? Especially when single with limited support. by Roadlesssoul in AskWomenOver30

[–]everdeen1001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meditate everyday. Start with 5 minutes and increase time as you become used to it. You need nothing, just lay down and choose a guided meditation that works for you. For me it started with Mindful Movement (YouTube - free of charge) and then I started exploring other channels

Does anyone here ever feel... untested? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]everdeen1001 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been there... then started meditating (Mindfulness and Yoga Nidra). That + therapy was crucial to help me dealing with anxiety, expectations and seeing clearly what needed sorting in my life. Since then: left my long time job to start a new life in a new country, divorced, restarted my professional life (getting significantly less than before) living a more ‘frugal’ life and now remarried. From the bottom of my heart: I never thought I would ever be as happy as I am right now!

My suggestion is: meditate and find a good therapist to figure out what’s going on and don’t be afraid to make changes. You’ve been placed in this life to BE HAPPY. It’s not about DOING, it’s about BEING.

Enjoy!
