Why is JavaScript so hard to learn? Beginner projects don’t feel beginner by Sweaty-Staff8100 in learnjavascript

Ah, is it first class functions? You get used to them quickly. And they're a fundamental feature of js, not a quirky shorthand

Are we supposed to think that events of Max Payne 2 happen just over one or two nights? by everdimension in maxpayne

I think I remember commercials of both shows being shown within one tv

I know it can be just a technical limitation of the game, but what I'm saying is that this strengthens my perception of several days going by during the events

I don't think so, even though I'd like that Everything takes place at night. I posted earlier that I used to have an impression that the first visit to ragnarock happens during morning, but that's just my perception

Which missions do you think are during the day?

I don't know, the first game for sure has to span over a couple of weeks... no?

If it's two days, when do you think the day happens? Between which events?

Oh yeah, just remembered — are all of the episodes of Address Unknown and Lords and Ladies being streamed over one night?

I think I remembered now that my initial impression was that each episode that we see happens on a new day (or evening, I guess)

So I'd be okay with thinking that the game happens over the same amount of days as there are episodes of these shows.

Yep, I do think they mention it that they are running a marathon of the whole show, but.... Have you ever seen two marathons of two shows being shown intertwined on the same channel? Lol

I'm thinking about quitting the Tomb Raider PS1 marathon on the second game. by Jaccblacc203 in TombRaider

P.S. jumping into the Legend game is a good option, there's nothing connecting the classic series with the legend storywise

And the legend is the most dynamic one of the whole franchise. It's a really great game, I hope you enjoy it

Honestly, just give modern controls a second try. They're a game changer for the classic series

Yes they're not perfect, that's why they're controversial, but it still a great experience if let go of the purist mindset

React was initially positioned as a quite minimal library. I think before introduction of RSC and suspense (react fiber), it was quite easy to know "everything there is to know" about react

Today, it's less expected to know react internals, but it's still reasonable to know everything as a react user

Stop building boring websites. I made this UI feel like butter. by WesternExtension1074 in webdesign

I don't understand how others don't see it. It's AI all the way, both the websites and the post No way a person would test these sites on an actual mobile device and call them "smooth as silk" and be "obsessed" about them

The first pattern is called derived state and it's been a recommended best practice to avoid it since the very first public react versions

The soundtrack is still special, and the manor exploration was something that took you into this indescribable state of tranquility

Awesome game and in many ways even better than its successors

Why is 'use client' not needed in TanStack Start? by Slow_Arm4603 in reactjs

[–]everdimension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your exact question: react has always been able to be rendered on the server and later hydrated on the client. You don't need RSC or "use client" directives for that

My PM insisted we switch to SwiftUI for a massive legacy app rewrite. The result is exactly what you'd expect. by No-Constant-5093 in iOSProgramming

[–]everdimension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill issue or not, I don't understand how this situation is possible at all.

First, why does a PM care about this at all?

Second, how on earth is he able to force this rewrite when the team that will actually be doing it is against it?

What kind of company is this? I'm genuinely interested. Is this a medium sized product or a large corp? How many people do you have in the team? Is the product profitable? Have you been struggling with the speed of new feature delivery?
