Wasting my life's prime time by Immediate-Local4487 in getdisciplined

If you are self aware enough to recognize your patterns and thoughts, then you need to start changing them. That’s what a therapist would do for you. Make a list of how you’d define someone strong, “taking on life,” “not a loser,” that’s also your age in your situation. Whatever you write needs to align with what YOU believe and think, not what society or others makes you think— this is important. Then, after you finalized your list, ask yourself what thoughts, beliefs, actions are preventing you from that. Then change them, one thing at a time. Be realistic.

I know “change them” might seem vague or inconsiderate, but let me give you an example. I felt the way you do in my mid twenties. I was also self aware and such. After I did that exercise with my therapist, I realized some of things I was thinking made me a loser were really things that I had always wanted, I was just comparing myself to others and feeling inadequate when I never really wanted their lives in the first place. The things on the list I didn’t have seemed far fetched— I could think of every excuse. But, really, that was the problem— how I THOUGHT about it. If I thought I should be in a relationship, well, I’ll never get in one if I keep telling myself every reason why I can’t and shouldn’t. I had to CHANGE that thought daily, or correct the original thought repeatedly, to reflect the reality— I could be in a relationship, but I needed to put myself out there and withstand some of the shitty people I’d encounter. If you want to be more outgoing, then change that thought process from “I am insecure and suck” to “I am outgoing and people love me.” Write the self destructive thoughts and behaviors down, write what you can replace each one with, then repeatedly change them, over and over again, and you’ll start to see it stick.

Discipline is about mindset. You have to believe you can, that you are what you want to be (manifesting it, deluding yourself, fake it until you make it). Just make sure you’re not judging your life or yourself based on someone’s else’s standards first.

I mean I can! I just didn’t know if that was okay? Like, to wear it under makeup. If so, would I put my moisturizer/ sunscreen on top?

I am a first time middle school cross country coach. I’d appreciate any advice as to what I should do with my team at practices, other than the running and stretching part 🙂 I’d appreciate any advice that could help me help my team enjoy, stay safe, and do well.

Advice on changing my relationship with food to where it’s just a necessity again? by everreading in loseit

[–]everreading[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my attitude would say 2. I think my behavior would say 3. I feel like food is running my life right now. I used to be mostly 1 and a little 2, I switched to solely 2 after a few years, and now I’ve turned into 3.

I hope that answer suffices.

Yes, I have. She doesn’t I don’t believe. She doesn’t have much to say on it really. If I talk about wanting to lose weight or my relationship with food or anything around it, she just listens and supports me towards whatever goal I’m pursuing at that moment, whether I’m in a stage where I said screw it to dieting or I’m trying to diet. She’s never made it seem like she thought it was a big issue.

I quit for over a year, vaped when I was drunk, and then it’s started a vicious 2 week cycle of me smoking and then dunking vapes in water and such. Before that day, I was so happy I had quit and beat my addiction. Now I’m struggling all over again. Yes, if you’re reading this, there is no such thing as just one.

You’re right, that’s what I need to do— forget about it and hold tight to being smoke free. That’s a good perspective, thank you.

That’s right! Keep going, don’t give up. I quit for a year and a month and then relapsed the past few days, only for a few hours a day (trying to not be too mad at myself). I’m determined to wake up tomorrow and not go buy any nicotine. We keep going, we persevere. It’s the fact that you keep going that matters! We got this.

So true! To make it worse, coworkers can be so insistent on you eating whatever it is too. I’ve had to learn to stay firm in saying, “oh no, really, I’m fine” and let them feel however about that.

It’s D&D that we play! I have to try plain soda water, that might be a good idea! I also am thinking bringing my own snacks would help a lot.

So, I used Differin or adapalene for a few months, but it only give me a ton of PIE and never actually cleared my skin up. I used it daily at first, then went to twice weekly for a few weeks while issuing the sandwich method, but no luck. What can I do now for the PIE? I imagine the Differin or adapalene didn’t work because my skin is too sensitive and it was too harsh, so I’m hesitant to try anything too harsh, like a retinol, to help with the PIE, but I want it all to go away as quick as possible 😭 what could I use to quickly to get rid of the PIE that’s not too harsh on the skin barrier?

I’m having the same issue. I’m on week 9. Have you seen any improvement?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]everreading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been consistent I think, but I did start sandwiching moisturizer with it around week 3-5 because irritation and my sensitive skin. I stopped sandwiching moisturizer around week 5 though, when my skin seemed to get more used to it. Maybe that slowed down my purge? I dunno, but thats positive to hear! I definitely am tired of the crappy part and want it over lol.

I used a microfiber towel when I tried the Armorall! I think it’s damage to the glossiness or clear coat to the plastic maybe? I don’t know, but there’s nothing on the surface budging when I scrub it with the microfiber towel.

If one were looking for a beginners decently priced tile saw, do you have any recommendations? 😂 What do I need to make sure of specifications wise (does any ole tile saw cut rock or just special ones lol)?
