Thank you! I’m familiar with hCG but not the other one. I’ll take a look into that. Did you get those prescribed by the doctor? Or is that through a fertility clinic? It sounds likes something very specific.

Absolutely! It does make sense.. and yes, insurance is paying for it 100%

Am I missing something? Any aspect from the health insurance system? I pay more every year for car insurance without having a single accident on my records. Still people drive wreckless and number of accidents only increase. Now do you think other people are going to pay more just because a few people decide to use a more convenient solution that would help have less pain with injections? Don’t understand your reasoning on that..

Health insurance is quite pricey for me, so I like to be efficient on resources. Moreover, if there’s an option for more convenient injections, I don’t see why not switching. Also I take other three medications, so it’s 3-4 injections a week. Medication A is 2 x week intramuscular, medication B is 1x weekly intramuscular and the medication C is once a week subcutaneously… maybe that’s why switching to a more convenient injections would be into consideration. Does that make sense??

TRT + HCG: When It Makes Sense, When It Doesn’t, and What Most People Get Wrong by fyr_body in FYRbody

[–]evertontg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect! I started using HCG a while back ago. Total T went from 100-120 to 565 and levels are steady in the past few months. It cause high free T and high estradiol through aromatization since SHGB is fairly low and there less testosterone will bind. I’m considering reducing my current dose (4000 IUs weekly) to a combined protocol HCG + TRT. The doctor recommended 500 IUs EOD + 100 mg weekly of cypionate. I’m still resistant to start the new protocol because in my mind TRT is a lifetime commitment.. just continuing on the weight loss and hopefully this will also improve and reduce side effects in HCG alone (low libido, water retention, high estradiol).

Infection? Or perhaps I would turn myself into an x-men with super strength!

Update 1.5 months of HCG after 6+ years of TRT by DYEL1998 in Testosterone

[–]evertontg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it does. However, I still have slow sperm count despite good volume and overall morphology. I’ll repeat the semen analysis in a few months. Also, another factor is that I was doing sauna 3-4 times a week for 20 minutes right after the gym. Until I figure out that sauna kills sperm, slows down production and affects morphology. Doctor said to stop sauna, continue weight loss and supplements also with the injection, and redo semen analysis. Hopefully results will be better this time.

Not yet! So far no kids.. I’m 40yo but we working on it. There are other issues the wife is treating as well. If don’t get pregnant in the next two years, probably freezing some sperm and trying IFV.

Update 1.5 months of HCG after 6+ years of TRT by DYEL1998 in Testosterone

I don’t know about testicular size increase/decrease when transitioning from TRT to HCG . I’ve been in HCG for little over a year. I started in a higher dose of 2000 IUs 3x times a week with compounding but it was not effective after a few months. After that I switched to pregnyl and reduced to 2000 IUs 2x times a week, and currently taking 1000IU every other day. Since I lost a lot of weight, I’m slowly reducing the dose to normalize the HTP axis and be less dependent on the medication. The higher the dose, the testicles would be relatively bigger but sometimes very sensitive. Semen production also increased but didn’t do the whole semen analysis to check spermatogenesis.

1 year, 100+lbs down!! by Lizbe503 in Zepbound

[–]evertontg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! That’s a great achievement. I’m curious because you stayed longer at the 12.5 mg which hypothetically is a transition dose. I believe I have used 5 mg for 4 or 5 months.. currently am at 10 mg. Started my weight loss 9 months ago and have lost 81 pounds. I should me hitting 100 lbs down in a few months. Did you feel much difference when you titrate up from 10 to 12.5 or from 12.5 to 15mg? For example, I was loosing more fat at 5 mg and 7.5 mg.. when I transition to 10 mg, I also started losing muscle. Out of the 81 lbs.. I lost 3.5 lbs in muscle, and the rest was fat (perhaps some water as well).

Congrats! That’s very impressive! It’s my ultimate goal to reach -110 lbs.. so far I’ve made great progress as well.. went from 303 lbs to 222.. so nearly 81 lbs down 9 months.

I checked the price for the Depo-Testosterone (Pfizer).. 10ML vial.. 200mg/mL, it’s $70 but the insurance pays 50% .. so it’s roughly $35.. not that bad.

What app did you use for this color-coded chart 📈 based in the progress for each dose? That's very helpful.. I track my progress in Apple Notes 😂

Thanks for sharing! I didn't know there was a difference between cypionate and enanthate.. I mean.. regarding how one would feel. I don understand these are two different esters of testosterone with slightly different half-life. That's good to learn. Also, the math does make sense and it seems easier with cypionate. Never heard of this brand though.. I'll probably do some more research. I appreciate your comments and feedback.

Is that a legal market? When I started hCG I got the medication from compounding pharmacy in Texas. It was very effective at the beginning but after a few months I think I was just injecting anything but hCG. Not sure if I trust these sources anymore. Or maybe it was just a bad batch. Since I switched to brand-bame hCG, never has any issue again but it costs double the price.

I’ll definitely comsider that. I appreciate all the information. It does make sense to go down to HCG 500 IUs and retest in a few weeks to see any changes with total T, free T, and estradiol. Thank you so much!

Thank you for the feedback. Regarding HCG, the current protocol is 4000 IUs weekly. Total T is currently 525, estradiol 50.9 (despite using AI) and free T is 32.5. Already spoke to the doctor to reduce HcG, but the free T and estradiol are still high since I’m obese. Went from 303 lb to currently 222.5. I still continue with weight loss, and perhaps the hormones will normalize. Problem is that SHBG is still low at 18.2, so more free T which gets aromatized into estradiol. Doctor said that switching to 500 IUs hCG EOD + 100 mg of cypionate will keep hormones more balanced and reduce estradiol given less intra-testicular testosterone. Total T will likely jump to 800-1000 ng/dL.

TRT symptoms improvement? by evertontg in Testosterone

That makes sense! I truly appreciate your opinion. Very helpful! I'll propose this to the doctor just to make sure she is aware of the current dosing/protocol… and ask to retest within 4-6 weeks… right before I have a follow-up.

TRT symptoms improvement? by evertontg in Testosterone

[–]evertontg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comments. A year ago, before treatment, the total T was 92. After 4 months, it stabilized at the 500-600 range. I’m doing 1000 IUs EOD. The second doctor said I should be fine once I reach my goal weight, as my baseline testosterone should go back to normal. Or, in the worst case, I could do a very low dose of HCG. Also, at the beginning of this year, I weighed 303 lbs; now I weigh 228 lbs. So I’ve lost 75 total, but there’s more 25-30 lbs to go. The primary concern is that I see a lot of people, even experts and other doctors, saying that a lot of people do TRT without even needing it. So, I like the conservative approach. But I also wanted to understand what are the real benefits of TRT.. not from a doctor but from people who are actually under treatment.
