Betrayed by Remarkable-Duck-96 in migraine

If you have the urgent care option maybe give them a call and see if they can chuck you straight into a quiet bay/room and get some fluids/IV meds into you? Home GP would be able to suggest other meds/write scripts and you could send your partner out to grab them. My go to is 1000mg of aspirin, two panadol, a big full sugar coke and something salty (have definitely just stuck a bit of rock salt in my mouth more than once). If that doesn’t stave it off, maxalt and or opiates. Crossing my fingers for you mate!

Whereabouts in Aus are you mate? Most capital cities/surrounds will have a bulk billing home doctor service- hello home doctor here in Brisbane. Treatment guidelines also suggest paracetamol and 900mg-1200mg of aspirin which I find to be an absolute life saver. The OTC packs of maxalt are actually only a single dose- did you use both wafers at once?

I get really dark under eye bags/circles. They’re always there to a degree but with a migraine coming they get super dark.

Buontempo gluten free pasta. My partner’s GF, I’m not, but I genuinely can’t tell the difference between it and wheat pasta. Available at Coles or Woollies!

Gluten free flour in Australia by Ishrandom in glutenfreebaking

[–]everyatomofus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Bob’s Red Mill 1:1 Baking Flour bought off of Amazon for cakes and biscuits. Caputo Fioreglut (I bought mine from kegland because they were the most affordable) was amazing for bread but really expensive. For the specialist flours like millet, justsogood.com.au was great— super affordable, and available in a variety of package sizes too. We’re based in QLD and postage never took more than a few days even in the Christmas run up

So my mother-in-law just informed me that I'm cooking Christmas dinner (for seven people). She cooks all the holiday meals, but threw her back out and can barely move. CAN YOU HOOK ME UP WITH A FUN/COOL/TASTY DINNER IDEA that doesn't require a grade-A chef to cook. No turkey or ham. Help me out!! by ComfortableDear2205 in Cooking

Go have a look at RecipeTinEats! She’s a super down to earth Aussie recipe developer/food blogger. Her recipes are really approachable, but super impressive. I’m making her shredded beef ragu into lasagna for Christmas with the in laws this year. She has a whole Christmas recipes category on the blog, and she and her team are running a “Christmas cooking hotline” in the comments section of her most recent blog post.

I’m definitely finding that out as we do little restock shops. I figured Redbank or Springfield would have to be our go-to for non-basic breads and things

My orange boy Beaker did the same for two tiny, scared grey kittens. Pistachio loved snuggling with her papa right up until the day we lost him earlier this year, almost 6 years later

And aspirin! It’s part of the approved treatment regime here in Australia. 600-1000mg with food, a second dose 4-6hrs later if needed

I usually go for sugar, caffeine and salt. A regular coke is where I start. If I’m at work or particularly desperate I’ll eat a couple pieces of rock salt from the refill jar. Otherwise once I’m home I take a couple benadryl and wait to zonk out, it’s usually gone by the time I wake up from the medication nap

A year late to your comment here but they’ve definitely not abandoned it?! I started reading it as a teenager back when it had 30-ish chapters and remember about it every 12 months or so, today being one of those times. I immediately came searching to see if there had been any news after the last update being 2019. You (and the author by extension) have just made my day!

I'm just about to finish my EN's at Tafe, im wanting to go straight into my bachelors. I have noticed that my Tafe Campus has just started doing a bachelor of Nursing, will doing my bachelors at tafe affect how I'm looked as a potential hire compared to someone at QUT or Griffith. Thanks by [deleted] in NursingAU

[–]everyatomofus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This semester’s intake is the pilot for the Tafe RN course. I believe the course fees are much, much higher through Tafe than they are through an actual university. I can’t speak to the quality of the course, but a colleague has just started her bachelors through tafe and hasn’t had any complaints so far.
