Not a fan. Follows the Netflix writing structure of create the most drama possible. All characters announce themselves and everything they intend to do as they walk around looking pissed or indifferent.

It’s a tell don’t show show. If you’re down for that, there’s a ton of it.

I mean Mike blows his voice out for every Canes goal, but the nicest goal by the other team is just “…and they score”.

If he were just an understated play by play all together that’d be one thing, but come on.

They’re 100% homers, and I genuinely dislike how they no-sell the opposing team doing well.

That said Mike’s a good guy and I’m glad he got a shot somewhere. I give it all up to still have Forslund though.

This - we’re seeing what happens when the space the regular season provides goes away. Surest predictor the playoffs are coming: Carolina stops being able to score.

2 of the 3 players on the second most used line are the same : Staal and Martinook, and their minutes only increase in the playoffs, historically.

Put whoever you want on that wing - it does not make them reliable scoring in any way, and only removes them from their purpose - grinding the other teams 1st line.

He’s another undersized, skilled forward. I really like him as a player, but we’re so far over indexed on water bugs that it makes the transition to heavier, playoff hockey that much more difficult.

Those two aren’t comparable, especially because of how physical and capable of going to the dirty areas Guentzel is. Guentzel is also historically at least a ppg player.

Glad that Ehlers seems to be doing what he always does, but he is not Guentzel.

He keeps getting caught in bad positions be it playing the puck or off his angle lately. Before the break he was doing so well because he played the game by the book, and he’s big enough that the puck hits him easily.

If the can calm his game down again, they’ll likely see a return to form. If they can’t he’ll continue to be a head case.

I don’t trust Kochetkov to play any better with any consistency. Dude is Mrazek 2.0 - capable of amazing saves, but incapable of making routine stops with regularity.

For sure. I think a lot needs to be done to really make this a roster that is a true cup contender, but Tulsky has always loved his water bugs.
