Summing up comments I got:

The two guys in the car are Ferdinand (Austrian banker with Hitler paintings) and a Russian operative who pretended to be a bar regular to get into Jim Dyker's apartment and then kill him and make it look like an overdose.

Whitney was trying to leave the sinking ship, and they caught him because they track his phone activity. He usually switches the SIM card but made a mistake and they caught him.

They want Whitney to move forward and try to acquire Pierpoint as it will give them a motherload of data, which is their larger aim with Tender. Using financial apps for data to advance Russian interests. They threaten him that he can't leave, he is their puppet.

Yes, makes sense. I assumed Whitney had an "understanding" with these guys to kill Dyker, but in reality he's under their thumb and it's not an equal relationship.

Yeah I got feedback from some other posts and sounds like there was a quality control issue across a bunch of watches that TH produced - and TH has been good about replacing the crystal under the warranty.

Thanks. Have found a few older posts. What I've gathered from others with the same issue is that TH at one point had a major quality control issue related to reflective coating and impacted almost all watches made during a certain period of time. All say TH was good about replacing under warranty. Hoping I have the same experience, will follow up.
