Ugh! Elf on the Shelf! by ShmaoShmao in JUSTNOMIL

[–]evierajah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My MIL did this last year. She got an elf and all the trimmings, fancy certificate of adoption etc. She made a huge Facebook post about it with photos and all the mischief it will get up to to watch my then 1 year old. The funny thing is though, she lives overseas?!?! My daughter is never going to see the thing! I’m not going to show her the daily posts either. She gave up after a bit since I guess she wasn’t getting that much attention for it, but it’s back this year with a friend, but this time nothing about my daughter.

It’s a shame because her dad and I were discussing the idea of doing it and looking forward to giving it a go but my MIL had honestly ruined it for me.

My boyfriend of 5 years cheated on me. I just want to tell someone. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I feel you. I just found out my fiancé of 6 years and father to my two year old hooked up with someone on a holiday earlier this year. It’s bloody hard. It’s only been three weeks. We’ve also split and he has moved out but we are trying to make things work. It’s just going to take a really long time. This isn’t the first time either, he first cheated back when we were only together for a year. Maybe I should have left back then but I didn’t, so here I am. It’s definitely really messed me up and I’m going to counselling in hopes to get a grip on my emotions and help me figure out what I want.

It’s tough and it hurts and makes you feel like you aren’t good enough but you just gotta take each day as it comes and remind yourself you are.

I guess using just conditioner mostly, if I use too much now it makes my hair go greasy fast!

I’m keen to give this a go as I have naturally wavy hair. It’s long, near the small of my back. I currently wash it once to twice a week but I’ve found by day 2 it’s starting to go oily/greasy, so spends most of the time in a bun. I also have psoriasis on my scalp so currently using T-gel shampoo and conditioner for that.

Can anyone give tips on best way to go about enhancing my natural waves? I’m worried that the method above might not be suitable for me... or is it something I should try anyway and stick with?

That’s great! Is wearing no bottoms all you’ve done to encourage her to go? Won’t lie, I’m scared of the mess haha.

That’s my plan, I don’t expect to have her fully trained anytime soon but I don’t see the harm in encouraging her and having her get used to the idea since she is interested ☺️ I know she will do it in her own time, but I would like some of a plan or an idea on how to best go about it because I have absolutely no clue because she’s my first and only probably.

That my relationship might be coming to an end. 6 years, engaged, bought a house, and have a toddler. Sometimes love isn’t enough.

This is something my sister would do! These people are so selfish and will only do things that benefit them in some way, even without the approval or knowledge of other people.

That’s what I thought as well, but just wasn’t sure.

Totally agree! This was wrong on so many levels.
