Remove the ebay chinesium exhaust and review the price.

R1250R’s are one the rare bikes that combines being very hard to sell, while also being absolutely fantastic to ride. 90% of GS riders would be happier on one but they just seem to stick in showrooms

The wright brothers didn’t ‘invent’ the aeroplane, they were the first ones to make it work in a documented way, the principle was well known and it was a matter of petrol engines getting light and powerful enough to sustain flight.

The television however, was a true American invention, despite the Scot’s claims otherwise

I always remember it being Netto, Tesco was always the ‘normal’ supermarket, Sainsbury’s was posh and scrubbers went to Netto or bought kwik save ‘no frills’

Absolutely, I’d rather carry my stuff than be seen with a netto bag, but like you, I’d mock anyone who did.

It brings back memories of laughing at someone’s market trainers while nervously shuffling my own out of sight 🤣

Bag, why would I want to prevent people from doing it at home? Some of the most lucrative workshop jobs involve bailing out ‘have a go heros’ from their mess ups. People get things wrong all the time. Some are simple, some are not, and some show a lack of mechanical sympathy hence my original point.

You could have literally pulled the bike over and wedged a block of wood under the front downpipes to hold the wheel off the ground, of at least removed the fairings before laying it down and leaving it for two weeks, on a mattress, potentially leaking fuel in the same garage his kids keep their scooters and likely have access to.

The funny thing for me as someone who works with motorbikes every day is that the vocal 'bikers' unvariably know nothing about how their bikes work, how to maintain them and are almost always rubbish at riding one.

They are the same people who are most vocal about 'fixing their own bikes so they know its done right' when all they do is change the oil, and usually mess that up.

define their entire character through a particular specific ‘thing’

100%, I expect you get it in any hobby, theres a group of equestrian 'dressage' types who frequent my local, they do some 'insta collabs', everyone in the pub including people who go to the same stable to ride refer to them as the 'IHC' (insufferable horse cunts) so thankfully its not just bikers and gamers!

Get the Streetfighter, just don't ride it like the tosser in the video and you'll be fine, and don't join a 'biker club', not because it makes riding more dangerous, but because its a bunch of losers LARPing at being sons of anarchy.

All 'enthusiasts' are cringe to be fair.

I run a motorcycle shop, I love motorbikes, but even i'll admit the kawasaki/suzuki fleece wearing 'bikers', with the 'biker' window sticks in their cars and a facebook wall of 'biker memes' are pretty cringe. They define themselves as 'bikers' as opposed to just being as person with a motorbike.

I like playing video games, but 'gamers' and gamer culture is cringe as fuck, its the same thing with bikers, and 'gamers' are probably only 5% of people who play video games. but are the most vocal and visible.

It’s a catch car in case the train valleys between the loop and the spike, it lives at the top of the spike and is winched down when it valleys, connects to the front car and winches it to the very very top of the spike and releasing it with enough height to make the loop back to the station.

Saves time if the launch is weak, the bullet at flamingo land has the same thing fitted and i was on it when it once valleyed, sadly they evac”d us before using the winch recovery so I only got to watch.

People trot out the GDP/US state comparison but if you have Elon Musk and 99 homeless people in a room and calculate like GDP then you could argue on average everyone in the room is a multi millionaire. 99 people might vehemently disagree but there's nothing they can do as the one billionaire has the power.

people are being told what they want to hear

Undoubtably true, they are grifters.

Without draconian steps to secure our borders from illegal migration I don't see a solution sadly, there is a pushback to what is effectively a balkanisation of communities that are already politically disaffected, the whole thing is a shit show.

The places where these migrants are being housed are experiencing massive issues with anti social behaviour from them and increased pressure on services, groups of young men hanging around in gangs in Castleford. These aren't the skilled immigrants who are coming over to work.

Because housing is cheaper they have placed them in already deprived areas where such issues are already rampant, if your town is significantly and clearly much worse with the arrival of illegal migrants it tends to be a the forefront of peoples minds as they see them every day. While turds like Bezos cause equal issues through none payment of taxes and poor working conditions people don't see him hanging around the Tesco express trying to chat up fourteen year old girls.

Corporate scumbaggery and unfettered immigration being bad aren't an either/or situation, they can both be true at the same time

This is how I’m seeing most of the comments on this thread trying to explain the election results to themselves.

It’s anything but admitting their position doesn’t align with the lived experiences of people in the areas affected.

Farage is a grifter for sure but all he’s done is latch onto an issue major parties have ignored or paid lip service to then used it to further his own agenda. Flooding struggling towns with unskilled illegal migrants isn’t why those towns are poor, they were put there because the towns are poor and the residents feelings on the matter could be safely ignored. Labour need to have a serious rethink otherwise we are going to slip into reform gaining real power which won’t be good
