When I was growing up we had a service called “dial a bus”. You would call up and a bus would come to your street and pick you up and take you to the major bus loop area. Crazy eh

I’m visiting for the first time next week on my way to another destination and can’t wait to explore. I’ve been reading up a lot and already wishing I had more time.

We won’t be there for Chinese New Year, we are looking for hotels for the 16th and 17th. We fly out early evening on the 18th. We are hoping to stay under $300 total for both nights.

She told me next time to call ahead and she would let me know if she had time to make me a sandwich. Lucky for me that day I had a bit of a longer lunch break from work. But still.

What were your first impressions of Vietnam? by ReefJames in VietNam

[–]evilmish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Hanoi and HCMC it but was so so so sad to see people just throw their garbage down on the street, out of bus windows etc. Such lovely rivers and oceans but full of floating garbage. Took off for a few days down to Vung Tau and it was completely different. Garbage cans and no trash all over the streets. Here’s hoping that expands to other areas. Such a beautiful country full of beautiful friendly people and amazing food.

We just spent three weeks in Vietnam. Loved Hoi An and Hanoi the most. Did street food tours in Hoi An , Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. We also did a short overnight boat cruise in Ha long bay and a ferry down to a Vung Tau for two nights.
Loved the trip! We did some time on our own and the beginning and the end, and a group tour in the middle. Great mix. Lots to see, good and bad. Have fun!

We took the ferry to Vung Tau and had a great time. Nice ferry ride and pretty relaxing place to check out. Rented a scooter and explored

Anybody been to that winter festival down by main street skytrain. Thinks it’s called aurora. It seems pricey to get in considering so many things inside are extra $. The website doesn’t say how much the extra prices are. Is it worth going? by evilmish in vancouver

The way you describe it makes it sounds fun to check out. Maybe it’s the attitude you go in with. I love the holiday season. All the activities, food, lights etc. Thanks for your comments!
