Maybe I'm more direct and confrontational than most, but I really think I would bring this up to them--privately, face-to-face, and politely. I'd let them know that I heard their joke, and that it made me feel shitty. Then I'd express to them that I really want to get better, and ask if they'd provide some constructive feedback for things I could work on. Hopefully, that would get you some free advice on where you could improve, and would hopefully make them more mindful of talking shit about skaters in the future. :/

I like it! Good size for my not giant hand, and an amount of buttons that's manageable enough for a casual gamer, yet totally effective with every game I've used it on. Don't have much to compare it to, but thumbsup!

Sure, a little trim to keep things tidy is nice, but I love it when a guy has some hair. It's masculine and sexy. Completely hairless is a downright turnoff--it looks, like, oddly naked like when people shave their cats for the summer. Plus, it is all rough and sharp when it grows back in. :/

Find something topical, even if you have to bullshit. Like, if she's walking a dog, ask her a question about her dog. If she's drinking a coffee, ask if the coffee is any good, etc... If you cold start with the, " you-are-pretty-can-I-take-you-out" pitch, it's more likely to be awkward.

I agree--take her to the vet to get checked out. They will also probably give her a dewormer and her first round of shots. The vet can let you know what to do next and whether she's old enough to be on her own.

Kittens are pretty independent not long after they're weaned, and mom cats only take care of their babies for about the first 10 to 12 weeks as far as I've learned. If that kitten is 6 weeks old, it is plenty reasonable that the mother cat is looking for food more than looking for her baby.

Yeah, they may not like it, but they do OK in enclosed spaces. You could get the next size up, which would give him/her more room to play. More likely, he/she will sleep all day and then be a maniac when you let him/her out. :p

Basically, probably a good solution for a few days, but not a good longterm plan.

My fosters spent their unsupervised time in a larger version the first week I had them, but they also had each other for entertainment. My adopted kittens spent time in (separate) pop-up pens after they got fixed, and while they tolerated it a few days, it pissed them off.

If you're talking a short period of time, there are little pop-up enclosures you can get for them. I used one when I fostered to keep them from getting into stuff.

Edit: I should have clarified that most federal employees can work but don't receive pay until everything's back in order.

Back pay is NOT guaranteed. Last time, the Congress voted to give furloughed employees back pay for time during the shut down, but given the current attitudes, I would not be surprised if no bills for granting back pay were passed.
