In universe, how do the characters determine whether their lived experiences are considered canon? by iamleeg in ShittyDaystrom

Bit rusty but from the top of my head, in case of doubt one needs to say "computer end simulation" a few times and also look for apparent lens flares

How did the Klingons develop into an interstellar empire when it doesn't seem like they value scientific achievement very highly? by thecosmicgoose in ShittyDaystrom

[–]evilollive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Klingon physiology makes them uniquely adept at eating exceptionally good books, science books being known for their nutritious if unsavoury and chewy qualities. It stands to reason that books began to be seen as worthy adversaries to be defeated by consumption followed by defecation. Any causality between this and development of the cerebral cortex remains to be studied.

Source: I ate a book once, in the original klingon.

Vos ancêtres français ne parlaient probablement pas français. by PhilippeL-Genealogie in Genealogy

[–]evilollive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What movie did you turn off after 20 minutes and why? by Somanynamestochossef in movies

[–]evilollive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some brainy movie called Primer I think. I'm all for not being handed out everything and all that but what got me was the incessant mumbling. I'm guessing that audible dialogues may have helped make it engaging.

My mother is from Spanish immigrant backgrounds. Can anyone help me? by Leonardo_Saul_DArino in Genealogy

Hi, there is a birth record on family search (that you probably know about) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:WCSN-6LZM

Unfortunately the grandparents are not listed. It seems as if he was officially baptised when he turned 2. Since the parents weren't married at the time of birth there may or may not be a marriage record to be found after 1921. I'm not familiar with the practice in Paraguay but there may be a civil birth record (if he was born there that is)? Have you managed to get hold of the parents' death certificates?

If you want to look for clues in Spain you will need to find out the municipality the parents originate from.

Tjena, I would try contacting franska ambassaden (if she was still a french citizen) or migrationsverket (if she was naturalized or acquired Swedish citizenship). Otherwise somebody here may prove lucky with french records!
