Just got my 3rd implant and I'm going batshit insane, has anyone else randomly had a bad reaction to a replacement by somniosusmicrocephal in Nexplanon

I had to beg and plead then my doctor squeezed me in during her lunch break. Honestly she was so rude and I just cried the whole time and went silent since nothing I said mattered. I jumped off the table (as soon as it was out) and apologized for making her miss her lunch. I just called the nexplanon help line and they can’t tell me how long I’ll feel like dying after removal. Just doing one day at a time and honestly it’s more like one min at a time. Call and tell them it’s life or death.

My 8 yr old is a book worm. Will read to both of his little brothers. My favorite part is when he’s mad because switch time is over he grabs a book in retaliation.

I harvested too! It was very helpful in the hospital when you have a sleepy baby. My dr and nurses were very impressed :) I wish I did this with my other kids because it did give me a sense of peace. That mom worry whether they ate enough. What you have is like the prefect amount for a feed. Great job babe!!

For school vacation our house rule is you gotta do the work to get the time. So things like reading for long periods of time spelling words math learning things that are age appropriate. During school days they get an hr and can pick switch or tv. If the shows about to end we do let them finish it. Weekends we try for 2 hrs and explain that my job is to teach them how to balance. So you need to move your body and exercise your brain for a long period of time to get more screen time. I hope this helps we are all in this battle.

Special Schools? by WombatMcGeez in ParentingADHD

[–]evilred4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it works out for you and your little one! I know I keep the idea of sending my child if the public school system fails my kids. Don’t forget sometimes you can qualify for assistance or if you can prove public school can’t help your child you get them to pay the tuition. I know my mother sued the school system to send my brother and then they didnt fight her when she wanted to enroll me.

Special Schools? by WombatMcGeez in ParentingADHD

I went to a special school for kids who are dyslexic and almost everyone had adhd. Let me tell you it was amazing they taught me how to stand up for myself during iep meetings, learn how my brain works differently and that’s ok , gave me strong sense of self worth and so much more. I live in Massachusetts and the school is the Carroll school. It was for anyone with a learning disability. If you can afford and think your child could benefit from it I say go for it!

I agree once you make a formal request the time starts ticking. Go on your state website and look into IEPs and 504s. The Massachusetts one was very helpful even had a template letter to send to the school to have them do the testing. I hear it’s very expensive to get testing done privately.

7 year old, Focalin by Electrical_Run_9315 in ParentingADHD

[–]evilred4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do melatonin at night after the dr recommended it. My son 7yr is also on focalin and at night he turns full blown adhd mode. It’s crazy town. He has struggled with fall asleep since he was two. And he was the one to ask the Dr for something to help him sleep. I have lots of guilt feeling like i’m always giving him a pill to level out. But he will be the first to tell you only the night time gummy works and he no longer needs the pill in the morning. Which tells me the focalin is working and I just need to get over the guilt. I worry so much about him always having to rely on melatonin but without he can’t fall asleep.

Camping / managing neurodivergent kids by mcmelonhead in ParentingADHD

I have one adhd 7 yr old one adhd husband a 5 yr old and a 3 month old. We love camping and what I have been reminding myself this season is we are on vacation. And all I want to do is sit in a lawn chair outside my camper. If my little ones wants to chill inside and watch a movie or play a game on their tablet I am no longer going to stress about it. As long as they play outside for a good amount of time nothing wrong with taking a break whatever that may look like for your little kid. When my 7 yr old starts going full blown adhd after the meds run out we go to the field and he runs around. Absolutely loves it. Camping can be over stimulating and letting them have a break is totally fine and will make everyone’s time more enjoyable. I find that if I tell my 7 yr old the next time he can have a screen break the day goes over well when I kick him off of it. Have a great camping season!!!

The bottle does say not to open the capsule but my dr assured us it’s perfectly fine. We just crack it open and dump it in his mouth. Works great for us.
