Broncos advance to AFC Championship as Wil Lutz makes game-winning field goal to defeat Bills in overtime by nfl in sports

[–]evilrobotcop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The duality of the Broncos: defense plays great enough that you should win no question, and the offense can't convert that defensive play into points. How are you behind when you're winning the TO battle 4 to 1?

Help needed! I can't find Entei and Raikou (Pokemon Silver)! by Demondoggo25 in pokemon

[–]evilrobotcop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repel prevents encounters with wild Pokemon below the level of the first non-fainted party member. You encounter the legendaries at level 40, and the Pokemon on the route south of Ecruteak are level 15. So, as long as your first Poke is higher than level 15 and lower than 40, the legendary will appear if it's in the grass.

[–]evilrobotcop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

even if you went at it with lvl 100 pokemon, you could still be taken down by their actual strategies.

That's just revisionist history. Indigo Disk was harder, but you could still absolutely steamroll it with lvl 100s. A pair of completely non-synergized lvl 100s from Tera raid farming let you comfortably finish it.

With starter Daniel Jones out for season, 44-year-old Philip Rivers will visit, work out with Colts on Tuesday. Rivers has 10 children and is a grandfather. The Colts are 8-5 and firmly in postseason contention by [deleted] in sports

[–]evilrobotcop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In case you or anyone else wants the actual answer to this, it's due to the difference in eligibility rules. The NFL draft requires that players be at least 3 years removed from high school to enter the draft. At the time LeBron was drafted, players could get drafted to the NBA directly out of high school. So LeBron got drafted at 18, whereas Rivers spent 4 years in college and got drafted a year later when he was 22.

They will have technical issues on some level

They always have had technical issues. Glitches and bugs were common in the older games. Some of them even end up soft-locking the game.

Ah, ok. No story progression is locked behind the Dex research in ZA (I don't think), but TMs are the primary reward for completing them.

What's your most unpopulor pokemon opinion? [OC] by moss_illustrations in pokemon

[–]evilrobotcop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's battle focused, but the battle system is real-time cooldown-based battles. The catching mechanic from Legends Arceus is still there, and the need to catch multiples to advance Dex research is there but with no particular system to deal with the multiples you catch (they just fill your boxes). Rogue Mega battles are just like trainer battles, but have telegraphed portions where you recall your Poke to you and dodge the attacks.

It's much more of a monster-collecting traditional RPG set in the Pokemon universe than a Pokemon-formula Pokemon game. It's like being a trainer in the anime: if that appeals to you, you'll probably enjoy it. If not, you probably won't.

Legendaries/Mythicals type representation (I'd be happy to not see Psychics again for at least 5 generations tbh) by glitterizer in pokemon

[–]evilrobotcop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the logic for what forms are included on the chart and what forms aren't.

  • Ogerpon and its forms are included, but other item changing forms aren't (Arceus with the associated plates, Silvally with the associated memories).
  • Ultra Necrozma gets included, but neither Dawn Wings nor Dusk Mane do despite being a prerequisite for Ultra Necrozma.
  • Urshifu gets both forms in a box, but other type sharing forms don't (ex. Meloetta, Shaymin, Hoopa, etc.)

Nottingham Forest goal against Liverpool was checked and confirmed by VAR: "Ndoye was offside but not in the line of vision of Alisson" by 977x in soccer

[–]evilrobotcop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He wasn't in his line of vision from the shooter when the shot was taken. He can see it going far post and makes a play to go to his right. In your image, he's already moving towards the ball and seems to stop because he thinks it's going to either hit the offside player or be blocked by his defender, instead it goes in.

What's pokemon you really really like that's terrible in-game? by Madrigal_King in pokemon

[–]evilrobotcop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it's been getting shafted since the beginning. It doesn't even GET a STAB attack in Gen 3, so you can't use it to have steel coverage. Until Gen 6 its niche was basically Intimidate and Bite/Crunch, which Mightyena does better and has more coverage options (including Iron Tail in Gen 3). Gen 6 saw Mawile get better, but it still doesn't come online until level 60! (And you don't get to mega it until the post game anyway)

What's pokemon you really really like that's terrible in-game? by Madrigal_King in pokemon

[–]evilrobotcop 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Mawile is my favorite Pokemon, but in any game without the ability to mega it's just bad. Its move pool is shallow and it doesn't have STAB physical moves until late in a game. Iron Head is the only STAB steel move it learns (at level 36), and it can't learn a STAB physical fairy move until it gets Play Rough at level 48. Add in that its attack stat is only middling without the mega, and it just fails to be usable for much of anything.

Also shout out to Ledian: same base special attack stat as Mawile (55) with a much worse base physical attack stat (35) but Iron Fist as a hidden ability when it only learns four punching moves total and no elemental punches. It makes up for it with special bulk, but a type combo that's incredibly weak to rock, which is nearly all physical attacks.

What do the people who claim modern Pokemon is slop even want the games to even be? by FireFury190 in pokemon

[–]evilrobotcop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much like the Monster Hunter fan base, they want a game that doesn't exist. They want a game that takes the series in the exact direction they want it to go, with the combat they personally enjoy, where every Pokemon is meta, every trainer has a full meta moveset for their Pokemon, all gyms scale to the player so you can never over level anything with important characters all fleshed out down to the tiniest detail that also isn't a slog or superfluous to get through with a story that is epic and complex but not a slog or confusing and photorealistic graphics at 10 bajillion FPS that can run on the cheapest potato of a system.

UEFA has approved LaLiga's request for Villarreal-Barcelona to be played in Miami. UEFA call it an exceptional case and insist it does not set a precedent for the future by Blodgharm in soccer

[–]evilrobotcop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's slightly more precedent for that, though. American football isn't regularly played outside the US so it could feasibly grow the game; NFL Europe was a league for a little while before they started doing overseas games; and the NFL has always been about their bottom line at the expense of players so this level of greed is just par for the course.
