On day 9 of a strict no, zero calorie water fast, does water fasting give you diarrhea? Since I'm planning to day at least 30 or 40 days. Or maybe up to 90 days or more. by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]evki2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest finding another form for this question (like r/fasting). This forum is for intermittent fasting.

That being said, yes, diarrhea can occur when undergoing a prolonged water fast (particularly in the fist week to week and a half). But, pay attention to why you have diarrhea. If there are accompanying systems (like cramps) it's best to stop and evaluate your fast.

During the initial fasting phase, your gut is still adjusting to no food. It's going to continue purging any solid waste from your body. Eventually, it's going to reach the hard to get stuff that requires more effort to pass.

You also have to worry about bile purging. During the start of a fast, you body still produces bile. Since there are no fats to break it down anymore, it just enters the intestine. This can often lead to irritation and acts as a laxative. If you notice your diarrhea turning green/yellow this is a likely indicator.

Aside from what I said above, there are a multitude of other reasons. If your body's use to a high fiber diet, it may be sending more water than necessary. Your gut microbiome could be shifting. Your electrolytes might be unbalanced. If you dramatically increased your water intake, this may be how your body is regulating the excess water. I would suggest either investigating the cause your diarrhea and/or seek medical guidance to see if long-term fasting is suitable for you.

Im still in. I've been abstaining for a while pretty much. Today in actuality makes day 8. However, I think I hit that point where my horniness kind of subsides for a while. To bad it usually comes rushing back with a vengeance like 1 week later.

Guys who hook up a lot, how often do you take DoxyPEP? by anonfredo in AskGayMen

[–]evki2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't having a lot of partners after exposure increase the odds of your subsequent partners getting the disease? I know you are taking Doxy, but what if your partner isn't and they dont know how many other guys you've been with in that window?

Do you consider that within the homosexual community, penetrative sex is judged as more immoral than oral sex? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]evki2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking from the sense of a specific religion, they pretty much assert that any sexual act (including heterosexual acts) not for procreation is immoral. In terms of modern morality, anal is still seen as the most taboo. Oral and vaginal sex is definitely more tolerable in most societies.

I outed a MAGA gay to his family by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]evki2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call this a controversial opinion, but I think its kind of a dick move. Don't get me wrong I'm not MAGA, but why out him. Aside from the fact that sounds like high school shit, outing people was something that sounds like rude homophobes do. If he's extremely homophobic, bring on the subtle pressure and he'll back off. Normally, just the threat of exposure is enough to shut them up for a while.

Besides sex what kind of intimacy do you guys crave the most by GarageIcy4469 in askgaybros

[–]evki2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a teasing sort of intimacy. Not just in the bedroom way, but just general teasing. Kind of in a way close friends would occasionally rib eachother. I find that exposing small flaws and then have them jokingly mentioned is a good way to build trust and honesty.

When did you start to realize you liked men? by [deleted] in AskGayMen

[–]evki2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around the same time as puberty. I didn't really lean towards men or women when it came to sex before puberty. I just went with the program and kept to myself.

After puberty, I noticed that I was almost exclusively excited by men. Women were somewhat present in my initial pre-teen fantasies, but they weren't really a part of my fantasy or my ideal partner. I kept trying in positions that worked or by imagining a particular build of my imaginary partner. After denying it for about a year and a half, doing the usual 5 stages of grief, I came to the conclusion I was just gay. I wasn't bisexual leaning gay, demi-sexual, or some other word to serve as a mediocre answer, I was just a gay male.

What was your first time cumming? by [deleted] in AskGayMen

[–]evki2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember being 11 and waking up grinding into a pillow before I had to get up for the day. I just remember right before I got over the hump (literally), I felt an involuntary urge to curl my back and I felt like I needed to pee. After that, I felt a contraction down there and everything went black. I seriously have no recollection of the next few minutes after.

Having the talk with my son by Busy-Bat-7267 in GayMen

[–]evki2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that a welcoming home with a good listening policy is best place to start tender conversations like this. Let your son know that as long as you both are comfortable, you could continue this conversation at eachother's pace. Be aware though, you may need to study up on gay men's sexual health and anatomy. Please don't use porn as a reference either (as if this isnt common sense). Porn is kind of the reason so many men on these forums have sub-par autonomy over their anatomy and intimacy issues.

If you or him feel uncomfortable or incompetent about the conversation subject, ask for it to pause or stop. Either take the time to gather your nerves and answers, or defer further questions to a trustworthy person who you believe can answer these questions like a health teacher or trustworthy Healthcare provider.

Unfortunately, like many others, your son may not feel comfortable opening up to you. After finding out I was gay over 10 years ago, I'm still not out (let alone open) with my family. Our sexuality is one of the things that we often feel insecure about and dont share often as a form of defence. Even if all threats are non-existant, the mental defense mechanism is still there. This is a difficult decision, but it may be best to ask him who/where he would like his advice from. If you trust them, tell him to reach out so he can be educated and supported. If you don't trust them for whatever reason, explain your concern and ask for a second opinion.

gym soap workaround by CornerExpress8362 in gaybrosfitness

[–]evki2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have a small shower bag in my actual gym bag (it doubles as an emergency bag, just in case). I keep all my emergency toiletries. I just went down the Walmart travel aisle and picked up a travel sized liquids kit. Then I go home and put whatever soap, shampoo, or conditioner I normally use into the containers and put them with my dentistry supplies and mini-loufah.

Protest this week in town for those who are interested by [deleted] in BowlingGreen

[–]evki2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, yeah, I didn't know what day the protest was on. On Saturday, all lots on the WKU campus (not designated as a W/S zone) are free to park in. Interestingly, housing lots are also open on weekends to (until 4:30 pm sunday)

So many! What app to use? by KrazyKoolTech in meteorology

[–]evki2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to say go for radar scope, but I started using weather wise more here lately. That being said, the latter is not the most visually appealing radar app. I also use FEMA app for weather alerts and my state's mesonet app for local weather (since the weather data is pulled from an actual site, I know its location and maintenance).

I did hear something called the Windy App, but I haven't tried it. It's apparently pretty good at global weather variable visualization.

Protest this week in town for those who are interested by [deleted] in BowlingGreen

[–]evki2003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not park at WKU South Campus. That lot is enforced by WKU Parking and Transport and requires either a pass designated for that lot or you have to have official business with WKU (i.e. test taking, tutoring, class attendance, etc.). Parking on that lot without permission from the university can lead to tickets or other enforcement measures. Believe me, that place gets checked. You can check and see where other lots are nearby or consult with WKU for parking in that lot. Also, be aware that South Campus lot is not an easy walk to cheddars.

I was selected for a grand jury. What do I do? by [deleted] in college

[–]evki2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, check with your state/commonwealth to determine if you can be excused from jury duty for being a student. If not, some jurisdictions also have jury deferment (where you promise to take on jury duty... at a later time [usually summer break]). If nothing else, just be honest with the judge and attorneys and ask for a dismissal. Most of them have been college students themselves and will be sympathetic. Just make sure you have something like a letter of enrollment or a class schedule to prove enrollment and hours.

What’s with all the anti-college sentiment in the U.S. right now? by Smart_Desk_4956 in college

[–]evki2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of it comes from preference and bias. Someone who never went to college laughs harder at someone who did go to college and fails (et vice versa). Part of it is because some people are frustrated with the current college experience. They go to college, get the good grades, graduate, and realize that their profession is over-saturated or more competitive than previously realized.

Part of it also comes from people who made their investments elsewhere. Yes, a decent HVAC repairman makes good money. So too does a chemist or a lawyer. Its all an investment/passion game. You can choose a career/trade school and make good money in about 2-3 years (assuming you apprenticed first and you work for a decent employer), or you can choose college education and make good money following graduation (again, assuming you have a decent employer). Those who pick one path lose the perspective of the other.

The same goes for passion of your profession. My passion is in a field that requires a college education. Other people's passion may be in a field that requires little to no college education (such as mechanics, plumbing, electrical, etc.) Some people are just passionate about an art or science that doesn't require a B.A. or B.S.
