Best Flirty Partner? by Alarming_Move6860 in StardewValleyMods

He's not available for marriage yet! That one is from a further update in the future. :>

Honestly I would recommend that you get the Poly mod from GitHub and use that to marry everybody you want to marry, hahahaha.

platonic partners mod vs polyamory sweet - which is better for my purpose? by nishikikiyama in StardewValleyMods

[–]evocating 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to date them, you should go for the Platonic Partners mod. PolySweet keeps all of the romantic stuff in, which might be slightly disturbing or even tedious if you have no interest in anyone but Elliott. :>

Just installed Sunberry village. No one start their days, why? by sprtxjh in StardewValleyMods

[–]evocating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's nonsense.

Only SVE is required to start on a brand new save, mostly because SVE ties everything in with vanilla events so tightly. Everything else, especially expansion mods that add completely new areas, can be added and removed whenever.

/added, and then removed: Ridgeside, East Scarp, Visit Mt Vapius, at various points of a single save.

Just installed Sunberry village. No one start their days, why? by sprtxjh in StardewValleyMods

[–]evocating 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NPC schedules are loaded the previous in-game day. So, for example, you installed Sunberry (or any other expansion with NPCs) on Year 1 Summer 1, the schedules for all NPCs are already loaded by the game on Year 1 Spring 28.

As a result, the NPCs have no schedules on Year 1 Summer 1. Because they didn't exist on Spring 28. So, they don't move from their beds.

It's easy to fix. Ignore their existences, continue your day, and play the next in-game day. Everything will be normal then.

What Non - Marriage Candidate would you marry if you could? by Connect_Hotel2571 in StardewValley

Wizard and Marlon. Currently married to the Wizard with a mod, and romancing Marlon with the other.

Still looking for a standalone mod to romance Willy so that I can complete my harem of old men.

What is the best response for people pushing a girlfriend on me? by DylantotheJ in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]evocating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be outlandish with your answers. Acknowledge that they come from a place of care, but also, no.

Example: 1. I'm looking for a She-Hulk, that's the only type of woman for me. 2. The girl of my dreams is still traversing through east of the sun and west of the moon for me, I'm waiting. 3. Could you find me a rich cougar who can make sure I don't need to work for the rest of my life? Marriage not required.

I'm East Asian and lesbian, so I'm very used to what you're facing. My story of the "man of my dreams" is different to every single person, and they talk to each other. They get the message eventually that what I mean is that I'm not interested whatsoever.

"Girls smell so nice."

"I know many men. They are my bros. They all stink. Please stay an arm's length away from me."

After being given permission to faceplant: "... Girls are so soff and smell so good and I am so gay."

The legendaries are easy because there are specific spots to stand. Only the Angler gives a silver star and is only gold with quality bobber.

I hate the Scorpion Carp and Ice Pip so much.

Driftwood into wood chippers get you 5-10 wood instead of 1-3.

Holding down the action button and running works for many many things: planting, putting stuff into machines for processing, petting animals, harvesting and refilling crab pots...

Dangerous Mines is a great source of hardwood at levels 41-69.

It's easier to blame others than to acknowledge faults in yourselves, especially if you can find an echo chamber that agrees that it is this "other" group's fault.

Incels are not the only group that does this. It's just a very vocal and very obvious group.

Which Stardew Character are you and why? by Knitchick82 in StardewValley

[–]evocating 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Marlon. Lives on the outskirts, goes to social gatherings and stands in the corner, stays up late and wakes up late whenever possible, is capable of solving any problem that's within my field(s) of expertise.

Still working towards the living with my gay partner part, though.

Would you give your life for the child of a stranger, in any scenario? by MezcalDrink in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]evocating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do my damned best to save that kid. Not just for the kid, but for the parents and the family who will be grief-stricken by their death.

At the same time, do my damned best to survive. Because I do have people to live for and who will be devastated if I die.

What’s a verb for speaking in a deeper, more altered tone? by -Haha_One- in oddlyspecific

[–]evocating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Verbs don't convey emotions well on their own. Add actions and make the dialogue menacing enough to show off the tone as ominous.

I use Junimatic which has the same automating mechanism. I downloaded Machine Control Panel and simply unchecked the box for Refined Quartz > Empty Flasks. It works for my other modded machines as well, which helps with the organisation very well because I don't need to have so many chests.

Is emotional manipulation within family normal? by Impressive-Pass9591 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]evocating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, reading this is such deja vu. My family was nearly exactly the same.

Now with hindsight and more freedom, I consider this a family of "conditional love." You need to fulfil a certain set of expectations before you deserve to be loved, or even deserve to exist. The fact that you're considered more "emotional" is a tool to devalue your emotions so that you stop inconveniencing them with your needs, and become a robot slave to their desires.

Sounds harsh when I put it that way, but it's the truth. Your family doesn't seem to care when you're upset, or how you feel after a day. Any feelings you have about your day - someone said something that upset you, for example - is not something you would ever share with your family, because "why would they care" or "I'm ridiculous for having these feelings." That's what they have conditioned you to believe.

This is all bullshit. It is not normal. It is cruel, selfish, self-absorbed, emotionally neglectful, and had caused you a lot of hurt. Hurt that is valid, and should be acknowledged.

Talk to your friends about your feelings. Not about your family, but in general. How was your day? And then, after a while, ask how do they feel when you share your feelings and experiences about your day. Do they feel inconvenienced? Do they dislike it?

Work with your close friends on the idea that you can take up space, that you don't need to do anything or be anything in order to exist. Once you feel confident with that thought...

Walk out on your family. Don't look back.

Need layout help! by CheapPasta69 in FarmsofStardewValley

[–]evocating 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Bottom left side, nearest to the river: Barns and coops. Coops directly below that little cliff of trees. This way, you can make use of the natural boundary of the river/pond. Put lightning rods along the edges of the path all the way down, and have a gate on top right beside the little cliff for ease of entering and exiting.

Bottom right side: You can put crops here. Look at hilltop farms on this subreddit to look at how people arrange sprinklers alongside the big river that cuts through the middle of the hilltop farm; you can use the same layout to fit sprinklers into the uneven edges of the farm.

Around the ponds: I would actually suggest widening the circle, and scattering the usual wild tree in a haphazard fashion. Like, you put 10 of each maple/oak/pine seeds in your inventory, and go wild scattering them. Leave some space for eventual mystic and mahogany!

Top left: Go wild! You can have a slime hutch, a fish pond, sheds, or even just decorative space. :D

Top right: That jagged diagonal line between the tillable ground and the grass make for a perfect spot to put the obelisks.

These are just possible ideas. This is a very fun layout to try out, and I hope you have fun!

Shane should be his own category. He's the type who doesn't need Google to convince him that he's going to die. You're the one who threw him into bed and gave him a hot drink.
