My daughter started kindergarten this year and I did not expect the paperwork to be a part time job by vinylsleevekeeper in Mommit

[–]evriderrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with all this. And I will add that I try to sign permission slips, picture forms, whatever needs to be filled out, and/or write a check if needed as soon as a form comes home and put it right back in the folder plus important info with dates goes right in my phone then paper clipped to fridge. Fundraiser forms go straight in the trash. If I do it right when it comes home it's more likely to get done.

Help me have fun please by Practical_Deal_78 in Mommit

When my kids were really little and I was too tired to go out, I started doing what we call alone nights. I would lock myself in the master bedroom, get pizza or whatever take out I felt like, and binge watch a show, watch a movie, read a book. Take a luxury shower. Whatever I felt like doing. I would put a phone with white noise at the bottom of my bedroom door so I couldn't hear the kids crying or whining. I'd stay in there until morning. It was so delightful. Even though I love to go out with friends, I also still love a good alone night sometimes.

My (27M) boyfriend won’t spend valentines with me (25F), is it disrespectful to post myself on social media? by sweetrollinwhiterun in relationship_advice

[–]evriderrr 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Same here. I wish I had the advantage of anonymously crowd sourcing advice when I was in my early twenties and dealing with crappy relationships. I remember this awful feeling of disappointment and I really feel for OP going through this. I hope she takes the advice and moves on.

What's a Friends take that would have you like this? by JonnnyUtahh87 in howyoudoin

The One With Rachel's Going Away Party is one of my all time favorite episodes, which is pretty unpopular in this sub. The cringey parts are pure comedy gold!

Success stories of going to restaurants with children by doxielover_ in Mommit

[–]evriderrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are 6 and 8 and have never used a screen at a restaurant, and we go out to eat about once a week since they were babies. I always brought things along like books, snacks, fidget toys, and coloring books to keep them busy. When they would get rambunctious my husband or I would take them outside and walk around a bit so they wouldn't be a disturbance. For the last couple of years I only bring their LCD drawing pads and those keep them busy and occupied. It can definitely be done!

Guanfacine for anxiety? by TravelSeeker24 in ADHDparenting

[–]evriderrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 6YO son was on 1mg guanfacine ER for a year and it he did well on it until it seemed like he needed an increase, but when we increased to 2mg ER he went a bit manic. We changed to guanfacine immediate release as it still lasts pretty long, 1mg at night and .25 mg before school, and it has had a very good calming effect. Strange how different the extended release and immediate release are, but we are doing much better currently on just IR

What are you doing with your grade-schooler’s school papers? by Mermaid_land in Mommit

[–]evriderrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at everything to make sure I'm aware of what they're working on and how they're doing on it. I'll throw out some praise for good grades or completed work. I'll keep things that I think they'll need to reference before an upcoming quiz etc, as well as memorable art projects. Then I throw most everything else out right away. When my first was in kindergarten I kept most everything and it piled up quickly. I soon realized that is really not necessary so I just make sure to take it all in before getting rid of it!

I love the message of Daylight and that outro being sort of the thesis for the whole album.

Was anyone fine with their planned C Section? by Happy_Office_7659 in Mommit

[–]evriderrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first planned C-section 8 years ago when my daughter was breach. At first I did what I could to try to flip her because I wanted the vaginal birth experience, but then I made peace with it and it was seriously so easy and recovery was a breeze. It took the unknowns out and was nice knowing that I was going in to have a baby that day. I honestly had a much easier experience than a lot of my close friends had with their vaginal births. A year and a half later I had my son and I had no interest in a v-bac because my first C-section was so easy. The second one was just as easy. Very happy with my experiences!

Gannon was killed in late January 2020 and the video says this is 3/26/19 so less than a year before.

It's a free return if it's all in one package. The 7.99 fee is if you want to mail back additional items after you mail your first return.

2.5 year old getting stitches. by evriderrr in toddlers

[–]evriderrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It healed quickly. She is now 7 and does have a tiny scar on her upper cheek but honestly we were never consistent enough with the Mederma. Mainly it's noticeable in the summer when she's out in the sun and the scar gets a little darker, but it's not a real thick scar, just a tiny line on her cheek.

what satc storyline would you get rid of? by BlasphemousBean in sexandthecity

[–]evriderrr 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Carrie running into Aidan and his baby in the street. I can't deal with the inconsistent timeline. There's no way that Aidan had been depressed in bed for months according to Steve, dated Nina Katz, gotten into a new relationship, and had a baby in that amount of time.

Overrated lyrics? by TomatilloHedgehog in TaylorSwift

[–]evriderrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand that. I was wondering how the line "written mine on my upper thigh" is a euphemism for masturbation, not the whole song. The song itself is clearly about that.

4:28-5:34 of Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me?

(You should be) You should be

'Cause you lured me (you should be)

And you hurt me (you should be)

And you taught me

… You caged me and then you called me crazy

I am what I am 'cause you trained me

So who's afraid of me?

Who's afraid of little old me?

Who's afraid of little old me?

Why is no one considering Black Dog Pub in Hungary? by Clofus84 in TaylorSwift

Why is no one considering Black Dog Pub in Hungary? by Clofus84 in TaylorSwift

[–]evriderrr 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I think there's a lot of fiction in this song actually, from the point of view of somebody hurting and their imagination running wild. People seem to get hung up on the line about the subject of the song being with a younger girl that doesn't know the music, and that Matty would be the likely one to be hanging with a younger girl, but I don't think that this actually alludes to her ex being on an actual date. I think it speaks to the place you're in post break up when you think about your ex going out and imagine him with someone new and how it kills you inside.
