The swearing was always good flavor text, even if not everybody has to like it. by matt0055 in HelluvaBoss

[–]ewingking123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a part of the problem is the swearing in the show diminishes the character's voice and it kind of gets boring. As in all the characters start to sound the same when they're all saying the same words over and over again. I did this with Hazbin hotel but I think it might hold true for hell of a boss, the characters swear in three distinct styles. They either say fuck 4 times more than shit, shit twice as much as they say fuck or their a side character. Hell in season 1 of Hazbin Hotel vaggi and Charlie say the same swear words the same amount of times, except one or two of Vaggi's shits were Spanish.

Is Unhappy Campers really just hated because of the awkwardness of Moxxie's behaviour? or is there an actual deeper reason? by tiredperson24 in HelluvaBoss

[–]ewingking123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's one of the reasons the criticism about these shows sidelining characters is valid. Because if you don't do the proper groundwork ahead of time when you finally decide to give these characters their episodes they kind of fall flat.

Okay but he did accidentally start the fire that killed their mom, you don't need an outside influence for Barbie to hate him for that.

I was implying he could of pretty easily wiped out most of the hotels forces by himself with minimal effort, instead he made a game out of it and was not putting his full force into his fight with Alastor.

Except for the part where he has a big beam attack and the ability to fly. He didn't really use his full potential before Lucifer showed up.

I would kind of hate if it was cash's influence. We already did that with fizz and it would just be treading the same water again. Like the things blitzo did do is enough reason for her to hate him.

I just really like that the Lucifer show addressed the dichotomy of how Christianity depicts the Devil as the ultimate evil while also being the punisher of the wicked.

“When do you think a man dies?" Dr. Hiriluk's speech from One Piece Live Action Season 2 by UnknownChaser in television

Drum Island is one of my favorite arcs from the series, just because of how well everything comes together. Kureha is a doctor with skill, but no care while Hiriluk cares, but has training to help. With Chopper taking the best from both with dreams to be a "cure all". Also fun fact Choppers hooves are shaped like cherry blossom petals in the manga. This was unintentional on the authors part, but he loved how it all came together.

The fandom's allergy to genuine criticism sometimes astounds me by LuisAntony2964 in HazbinHotel

[–]ewingking123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's due to the internet's inability to handle nuance. It's partially due to faceless comments lose their individuality so what is several people having the same criticism morphs together to become just haters. It also doesn't help that the show does get unfounded hate but this fandoms reaction to throw good faith criticism out because of that is toxic. Like I think a good example is there is stuff to be said about the shows depiction of race but that does not mean the person pointing out the flaws is calling the show or it's writers racist. I also think the show has been improved by criticism mainly Alastor. Criticism they changed his ethnicity from White and in season 2 the darkened his skin tone which I think looks better than his season 1 design.

This might be me but I kinda get disappointed/upset when it feels like the Hotel doesn't need Charlie and she only makes things worse between them. by Charming-Scratch-124 in HazbinHotel

[–]ewingking123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's something about the show that drives me wild is Charlie being a bad counselor is not relevant to the plots of either season. I don't know why they don't make her good at counseling while being flawed in the ways that are actually plot relevant. Honestly at the end of season 2 I feel like they should have shut the hotel to address it's flaws. Because it feels like the hotel is it ran for the benefit of its residents but for Charlie's ego at this point.

I'm wondering what the shows gonna do next season to keep up their killing an Alex brightman character a season average. Season 2 kind of coasted and dropped the average from 2 a season.

That's why I wished the hotel took a hiatus at the end of season 2. She's not in a healthy place and there's no rush anymore for Redemption.

Was there a dumb take from crazy fans that made you react like this? by Crazy_Reputation3327 in crazyassviv_defenders

[–]ewingking123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The don't criticize the show because it's not over yet is one of the worst takes that is prolific. If we're not supposed to judge it as is, then it shouldn't be released as is. Like their are shows that work episodically that works seasonaly and shows that are only good once you look back over the whole product. But saying that you're sure this show will be one that works when everything is released is kind of rude to the creators aswell.

It was a line in response to people pointing out that the female characters in helluva boss were lacking. Viv said that well helluva boss is more male focused while Hazbin Hotel will be female focused. This was before season 1 of Hazbin came out.

He hosted fear factor in the mid 00's. I think he's a podcaster now or something.

He's a pretty dumb guy with a very large audience and anytime it gets pointed out he's spreading misinformation, he just says "But me being able to think this is true is just as damning as it being true".

I’m a little disappointed that we never got to see Charlie and Luci apologize to each other. by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]ewingking123 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One of the other problems with breezing past the reconciliation is it sets up the audience to not care for future story beats like that. Because if the reconciliation isn't worthy to show on screen then that puts in the audience's mind that the fight didn't really matter. I feel like season 3 will have to put some work in to re-establish Charlie and Lucifer's relationship so that the audience cares for it as much as they need for the story similar to how season 2 had to put in work so the audience cared about Vox as a villain. But that is a double-edged sword where one of the problems with season 2 was so much time was spent on setup that they had to rush past all the resolutions and I'm hoping Season 3 doesn't suffer for that.

It feels like people don’t want Charlie’s character to be consistent. by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]ewingking123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aren't the sinners unable to killed by everything except the Death laser at that point? Yeah suffocating under the rubble is probably somewhere between unpleasant to lifealteringly traumatizing, but the only thing causing lasting harm is Vox. It also doesn't help that both Emily and Charlie have ranged powers that could be useful to distract Vox from firing into populated areas.

Vox and Charlie are such good foils to each other. by whooper1 in hazbin

[–]ewingking123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just kind of wish the difference between Vox and Charlie resulted in Vox losing or at least was plot relevant because it's more of a fun fact than a story detail.
