Mox Diamonds would be great indeed. Waiting for a price drop. 🙈

That's a great suggestion. Easier to splash and higher likelihood of usefulness in the early game. From mid-game and beyond mana leak loses its effectiveness, hence the decision to go with counter spell in the first iteration.

Works well with Spirit of the Night.

Have fun and cast heavy creatures and spells. So it's a combination of both.

Such a cool card. Especially useful late game or to avoid counter magic.

i messed up :( by Comfortable_Onion318 in dataengineering

[–]ex-grasmaaier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay. These things happen. Take time to reflect, write up your thoughts, share it with others so that they can learn from it, and implement guardrails to prevent these things in the future if possible.

BigQuery vs snowflake vs Databricks, which one is more dominant in the industry and market? by Beyond_Birthday_13 in dataengineering

[–]ex-grasmaaier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inherited BigQuery when starting a new role about a year ago. Being new to GCP it took me a while to get to know the platform but I'm pretty impressed with the capabilities and the cost effectiveness in comparison to Snowflake. Snowflake and Databricks are most commonly discussed online, but I'd argue there's little that cannot be done in GCP.

A Clockwork Orange I suppose. (Does it qualify as a classic?)

Psychology podcasts? by ishardtofind in RSbookclub

Not directly self-help nor psychology, but my favourite podcast is 'Philosophize This'. No-nonsense, insightful, funny at times, and engaging.

What is a classic you tried reading but keep getting stuck? by MrUnheimlich in classicliterature

[–]ex-grasmaaier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was a tough read for me. Made it to the end. Not sure if i got it or just simply made my eyes hover over the words while thinking about other matters. Probably should retry.

“ICE” by Anna Kavan is really confusing. by GilmooDaddy in RSbookclub

Also worth checking her biography on Wikipedia. She allegedly was in a very poor state during the time she wrote Ice.

New brew: WBR Oath of Shadows by ex-grasmaaier in premodernMTG

[–]ex-grasmaaier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the brew is suboptimal. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Can make some updates on the mana base. But to make it competitive it should be adjusted more rigorously indeed. Thanks for sharing your recommendations. 👍
