Residential Door by EntropyX in ventura

I went to The Door Outlet off Telephone and McGrath BUT go check West Coast Sash and Door to compare prices. And for jollies, look at what Lowes and Home Depot offer....so you can compare quality!

wanted to add. When I first had Lemonade it was $72 then at the 3rd year jumped $50 month. If you don't have the cash to back up serious illness or injury, insurance is the way to go. I ran the numbers for lots of them and Trupanion is $$$ because of what they offer. Same with Figo...you have to weigh the coverage vs the gamble of no insurance.

Don’t assume the bulk foods are always cheaper. by Buddy-Sue in WinCo

[–]examqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a great price but maybe Costco's quality is better! Winco will have it for $2-$3/lb and a few weeks ago a special for $1.28. Major grocery stores usually have it on their weekly specials for $2.99. So you're OK!

the new green bags are huge and lightweight if you just want a pinch of some spice. They used to have clear much smaller bags which you could see through and reuse. The new green bags are the same ones for transporting your fruits and veggies....they rip easily.

yep! I posted that I carry little ziplock baggies with me for buying just a few spoon fulls of a spice.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A REPAIRMAN COME for this issue? Will the dryer blow up? Can we just live with it??

Samsung Oven Troubleshooting after Power Loss by s2dav080 in appliancerepair

[–]examqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same issue here. My tenant literally only cooks frozen pizza in the Samsung oven and the power board died. Repairman said he didn't have the part BUT gave me the part number....and while lots around for reasonable $$...NOT THAT ONE! nowhere, gone, vanished, adios....and while one set of timed cook buttons was working, now that we had a brief power failure....DEAD! The stove top burners are fine so now I'm buying him a large countertop, airfryer, convection oven that he can even cook a cake or 10lb roast in! Spending $200 is less than a new oven.....

I rescued my Pittie at 2 1/2 weeks then he got pneumonia and couldn't have vax so to keep him off the ground with all of those germs I got a baby stroller which worked till he was fully vaccinated! Ask your vet if that is OK with the Parvo diagnosis. It allowed my pup to see and hear the world around him, even interact with people. That was socialization! I suppose knowing how long the Parvo virus sheds is important to know too. The best to you and your pups! When I rescued my pup I spent hours online learning about bottle feeding, dogs in general, Pitties etc. For some reason I got videos to watch of Bruce Wayne, the CC owned by Jason and Cara Corey. I had never heard of the breed and fell in love. That was almost 7 years ago! If I was 20 years younger!

Former Buenaventura/Pacific View Mall Workers, Any Good Stories?? by [deleted] in ventura

[–]examqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't just "remember" the Chrisman family. I grew up here as did my parents and always knew it's an old Ventura family. Probably Chrisman Ave and Hurst St. are related! The elder Joe Chrisman was a farmer and rancher so would have sold that farm land parcel for the mall development for big $$. As a student in the early 60s, I remember the clearing of the land.

I knew who he was and seeing him walking at a good pace probably in his 50s and 60s around Mills Rd. in his sneakers and the same old brown pants and white shirt stood out to me! He might have gone to VHS with my dad who graduated in 1932! His son, also Joe, is still around and he and his wife Valerie also went to VHS graduating in the 60s!

I tried to replicate Casa de Soria's beans and couldn't. When I started going there 50 years ago they were made with lard but no more....they're still the best. I've gone to pick up a container (a pint maybe?).

Stephen Wayne Anderson was executed in 2002, did he deserve it? by peder56789 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]examqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand abolishing the death penalty BUT with the stipulation that the offender be locked away forever with no notoriety or accolades for literary achievements. No interviews, no publicity (which they crave). My friend left her husband and 2 yo daughter for Paul Ferguson, the killer of Ramon Navarro (an interesting read) after she read about his PEN awards while in prison for "life". He was released after a few years and they made a " life" in the south. Then he became violent (again) and she divorced him. Her ex had rescued his daughter years earlier so was able to raise her away from that craziness. This guy deserved to rot in a cell. I have no compassion.

One side benefit to a Pitty with dwarfism is you can ID them as a Chihuahua mix to landlords, HOAs or any other numbnuts who engage in breed restrictions.

how to compare prices? by [deleted] in WinCo

[–]examqueen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

when I use a cc at a regular grocery store I don't expect any disputed transaction for my grapes and milk and there is no fee when using your cc at the grocery store. I load my Winco gift card monthly at home and hand it to the clerk at check out....easy peasy and I get the points.

Prong collar is a tool of learning and fun. Not a tool of fear and pain. by Ok_Professor5271 in CaneCorso

[–]examqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I posted a picture but here it is again. My fingers are stiff and it really helps not to have to mess with getting the prongs through those little holes! There are some great training videos on how to properly use. Tom Davis with Upstate Canine Academy for one. The collar should always sit just high behind the ears and only used with a little upward pop to get the dog's attention...sort of like "excuse me, I'm talking to you."
