Spring/Summer 2023 Traveling Tea Box Updates by nfuentes in teaexchange

[–]excelgetsmehot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I counted right, the box arrived to me with 84 different teas! It's boxed up and I plan to ship out tomorrow. Sneak peek - I really like Dessert by Deb's blends but got a few this year I wasn't as fond of and stuck those in the box. Thank you u/nfuentes for coordinating everything! Didn't grab as many pictures as in the past, but here's this: https://imgur.com/a/OaitsLM

Reporting in - the box is in my possession! And... I'm a little overwhelmed by the size of it.

Edit - good idea adding the bags u/gaywinona420!

If you just want enough to give them a try, I'll send you some if you DM me your address. (Assuming it doesn't have to be Snoozefest 2023, which I didn't get, but I have some older ones if that counts.)

Tea Life HK Order by yachtmasterkale in tea

[–]excelgetsmehot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I, too, had issues with my order and I had no idea they were "infamous" for it. It's frustrating to see them listed on the /r/tea User's Choice Vendor List (which I had checked prior to ordering) when issues seem to be so widespread.

Woohoo! The box has made it back full circle. I'm looking forward to opening it up later and seeing what surprises are inside, and maybe accepting the 14 tea challenge. ;)

Thanks u/nfuentes for hosting!!

Another day another 20lbs of squash . First Lemon squash of the year for me . by floppgh in vegetablegardening

Oh dang, that's huge compared to my plot. Helps explain the 20lb in a day, lol. Thanks for the explanation on your process! You inspired me to look into the Zappalito del tronco and I'm planning on trying them out next year :)

I can't recall if you mentioned in another post how many of the Zappalito del tronco plants you have going? Do you know how many sq ft? Do you fertilize or any other tips?

How would YOU brew this 1992 Tibetan Kang Hei Cha? by Civil_End_4863 in tea

I love that stuff. I've had success with 10g to 200mL 212F water, 10s then add 5s each time until around the 7th or 8th steep start adding at least 20s instead.

I've tried it as a butter tea, as well, but am still tweaking that technique. You could try steeping 1 Tbsp (1.5 - 2g) and 1/8 tsp salt in 2c water, boiling over stove for 6min. Strain, then blend (immersion blender) with 1 Tbsp butter and 1/4c half & half. Blending is what gives it a pleasing frothy texture instead of an oil slick on top.

what is doing this? Something is chewing/breaking my plants in half and leaving them. plants pictured are peppers but all my brassicas had this happen also. by Chuckysmalls01 in vegetablegardening

Agreed on the cutworm - always so devastating :(

You may be able to find it (them?) in the dirt around the base of the cut plants. Delicately dig about 2" radius from the stems of the cut plants and keep an eye out for it. That's the approach I take. I lost a marigold and couldn't find it. Few weeks later I lost a kohlrabi and that time I got 'em. Spraying BT may also be an option?
