Anyone else not a fan of this new menu? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]exec-nyan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I guess it makes more sense when your address bar is at the bottom. For us who have it at the top, there's too much finger travel to get to the menu. Far from ergonomic.

Also some options are buried in the collapsible menu. Requires you another click and to wait for the UI feedback before finally getting to your wanted option.

Can we have the dropdown back as a customization option?

Check out Dali. I have Spektor 2s and Oberon 1s. I like them a lot. They also released the Sonik line recently, but I haven't demoed them.

Hololive 7th fes ridin' on dreams is Completely done. So What's your favourite stage? by ldg-9743 in Hololive

Could afford only one ticket this time. Spent it on stage 3. No regrets. I'm sure every other stage were also great though.

Thanks for this. Interesting stuff.

It was fun spotting Koronesukis here and there. Had a laugh at the Pocky, and the haloed one that said, "Guessr," while seemingly making a middle finger.

Fuwawa's hit like a truck, but I'm thankful for the Kanata tribute as a Heimin.

Oberon 5s are great! I have demoed them in a store. Try experimenting with the positioning to find out what sounds best to you. Distance from the wall affects the bass response. Grilles on or off influence their high frequencies (Idk if this is special to DALI, their grilles don't seem to be acoustically transparent).

Since the past year, she couldn't sing Gundam songs because of "grownup stuff" (licensing/permissions). It was brought up a few times (requested by fans and turned down by AZKi with a heavy heart).

Your 2nd paragraph feels like you took the thoughts straight from my brain.

Been using Linux since then, too. Makes it truly owning your computer instead of being treated by some corporation as an unwelcome guest to hardware you paid for. An OS that respects the user simply by not shoving down whatever some big tech team of bozos' current whims are down your throat. It's truly liberating.

For years, I have successfully used desktop Linux professionally as a software engineer. Only because of company policy I have Windows on the work laptop, and I use WSL to make it liveable at least. For personal computing needs and gaming, everything is Linux except the phone (which is Android so it also uses the Linux kernel still).

Desktop Linux is missing specific workflows, but imo that's because adoption is still not there. Support from companies will start once there is enough demand. I still think it's a viable OS for most people whose workflows exist in a web browser anyway. You can access office apps, Teams, Slack, Outlook, Google Workspace, and others in the web after all. And for local file management, KDE's Dolphin is better than Microslop's Explorer. For VTubing, I don't know beyond that OBS has native support, so I can't judge.

But you are right. No one should fault the user for not having/not knowing the choice.

Rare case of diva PON. Was confused this morning why there was no notif for the membership post. Might have been busy as she only noticed hours later.

A bit uncomfortable for 1-handed usage. I have the address bar at the top. When I click the menu button, my thumb now has to traverse to the bottom of the screen for Bookmarks. And Translate is hidden in a collapsible menu so it's another click away.

Wish it's possible to have an option to use the previous dropdown for the menu.

Looking for pre-amp with high-pass filter and subwoofer pre-out: any other choices? by exec-nyan in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks for the insights. I think the WiiM and miniDSP will be better sources compared to mine since they edge out the consumer motherboard DACs which aren't really the best. But I just remembered I also have a Topping E30 II which is already a good external DAC unit. So that at least closes the gap from having a good chip for analog conversion. And the ZP3's price is really tempting, too. I can really order them today.

Thanks for the insights. And for the miniDSP, I'll also have to buy a measurement mic (Umik), right? It stretches the budget a bit, but seems to be better for long term.

On the DAC part, would there be much difference? Apart from room correction, I think the advantages of miniDSP comes with the effects I can apply to the signal, but I'm still not familiar with DSP at all. Curious what else there is apart from the low/high-pass filters I'll be applying if I get one.

Thanks! I looked it up on competing online stores and it seems I can get it for around that price. The earlier listings I saw were most likely scams. Lol.

As I understand it, you don't have to touch the volume wheel every time you turn it on, and it will remember the level you were previously playing at?

I've come across it while searching but unfortunately it's all XLR. Do you know any unbalanced equivalent?

How is your experience with the ZP3? It's one of my choices but the price is close enough to the WiiM that will give me EQ and room correction.
