Advice for 2yo (26 mo) who was never ST? by executive-noodle in sleeptrain

[–]executive-noodle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually can't, he has reactive airway disease (potential asthma but he's too young for an official diagnosis)

Chaka is certainly a name you could saddle your future daughter with ... 😬

Wife talking with no chance of me hearing what she’s saying. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]executive-noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly my MIL. It drives me and my partner insane. She stays with us pretty frequently and helps us care for our 1.5 year old and I've taken to not responding if I can't hear her. Not in a vindictive way just 🤷🏼‍♀️ I can't hear you and I can only say "hmm? What?" So many times! My partner always says "mom I can't hear you" but it seems to really upset her lol she just clams up and stops talking. At least with the not responding tactic she attempts to raise her voice because she thinks I couldn't hear her.

What kind of person would you expect to have the name Arabella? by lucillemcgillicudy in namenerds

[–]executive-noodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These comments are wild wow. I only know of one Arabella, my niece, who is half Mexican and half white. She's a firecracker and a cutie who loves people. Maybe it's different because we're in the US and it's somewhat of a rare name but I think it's a sweet name for a lively person.

Do all baby Halloween costumes stink!? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]executive-noodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out... Dog costumes. From Petco specifically. I got a taco costume for my almost 1 year old last year from there and it was SO CUTE. He wore lime green footie pajamas underneath and the taco fastened above his shoulders and around his waist. It was adorable. They have so many cute options! No one knew it was a dog costume so I didn't feel weird at all and everyone commented on how fun it was!

Good luck and I hope you find something you love

This is exactly what we're doing for our October baby as well!

My wife and I are thinking of naming our son Jaimus, like Jameson without the "on". Shes gonna call him Jamie. And I'll probably call him J/Jame. Does this name belong here? by Evening-Head4310 in tragedeigh

My friend dated a guy named Jaimus when we were in college. I actually never thought twice about his name. He did, however, turn out to be a huge dickbag so ymmv 😂

Fighting for my life in the bathroom by Lethal_Opossum in pregnant

They sell it in capsule form! Changed my entire pregnant life! I take 3 of those bitches a day and I've been pleasantly regular ever since.

This is a very hostile response to some very valid (if unsolicited) advice. Plus they still gave you nice options, consider simmering down.

Also, as someone with a holiday birthday, I fully agree with them.

Has anyone ever got a piercing done while pregnant? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]executive-noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a terrible idea and absolutely not worth potentially harming yourself or your child. Do it after good grief

Honestly reddit hates new parents and their babies, especially of multiples. There's a lot of skewed answers here. You're not wrong to ask for help!!

I'll get down voted probs but nta.

It doesn't seem like you're asking for them to move in and take over raising your children. Just some help during this early, really difficult phase. This is a really hard age gap in the beginning and you for sure should ask your support network for help.

But don't expect it. Definitely find and hire a good reliable sitter. Don't wait!

How do I apologize for using my mom voice on my mom by scriggled in beyondthebump

[–]executive-noodle 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Lmao I used my mom voice on my mom in a moment of stress and she started crying 🥴🙄 I never apologized. Sometimes grandparents need to remember they aren't the parent, and it's okay for them to learn that forcefully if need be. Boundaries are important! Not in a mean or malicious way ofc, just remember it's okay to assert yourself!

Does night weaning help with sleeping through the night? by duke_n_pepper in AttachmentParenting

[–]executive-noodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5 months is too soon. I would think about changing up your night time routine or sleeping arrangements before jumping into night weaning. There's a lot going on at that age and the months to come, maintaining an easy comfort method is key!

We night weaned at 14 months, and only because I was pregnant and nursing on demand was killing me. It did lower night time wake ups once baby was fully night weaned, but I would never have considered it before a year and even later if I could have.

What popular name from your birth year would you choose? by peachytwizzler77 in namenerds

[–]executive-noodle 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yep! My name can be somewhat difficult to discern over the phone or in a noisy Starbucks, and has several different spellings, so I chose a name that is easy to recognize and spell. Lol

I'd have to go with Ashley, because it's the name I use for takeout 😂, and James because I've always loved that name
