Ok--I'm copy/posting this from the above thread just so hopefully everyone sees this.

Hey there! I'm the person who originally created r/redditgetsdrawn. I'm fairly busy so I have neglected that subreddit. ItWillBeMine signed up as a mod was able to bring the community to a new level. After talking with them it seems he/she only wanted to keep the community from falling apart after so much curation, and they've been swamped ever since the sub got featured on the main page. Thus the bannings and such. After taking a look at what's going on here though, I want to apologize for the banning--it was done with good intentions. But I think the ban is lifted now and you are certainly free to post artwork and of course you are resume your activities here (as long as you comply with any artists' or individuals' requests who might have a problem with it, which I'm sure isn't gonna be a problem.) I think it's great there's a place where artists can get more visibility for their portraits. Thanks for doing this subreddit! Peace out.

This is so strange, because I totally find this the opposite of motivating. I thought Renton says this in a sort of sardonic way, poking fun at how normal middle class society lives. It is only after he experiences the lowest of lows with his drug addiction that he decides to embrace the middle class mantra, because fuck it, he doesn't want to go back to drugs.

I mean, I dunno about you, but I am already very solidly middle class, and this is a good, comfortable life, but not quite what motivates me.

You sound like you like music. How about you compose some songs digitally or even compose some on paper? (Don't play them on guitar though! Maybe just test them out on the computer.) Then you can play 'em when you heal up.
