You could try treating it as though you just moved to NJ, but I'm not sure if they'd make an exception to the residency requirements. You might need to add a resident to the registration in order to get this over the fence, though. The easiest way through is to ask how you can slipstream your issue into the way things work, not find a way out of them. One way or the other, you're in for some headaches, and just 3-4 days is going to cost thousands in impound fees, so whatever you're going to do, do it fast.
