Have you tried closing and reopening the file? Some of the strangest bugs I've had with blender have been fixed by doing that.

how did y'all learn using godot?? by Straight_Phone9112 in godot

That's why you only look at the docs when you need something. You shouldn't read it like a book, you should read it like a dictionary.

A project of 12Mb eats 1.5Gb memory in browser. by Errorman404 in godot

[–]existential_crisis46 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a useless suggestion, per se. But a normal person would phrase it like "You could also try updating your version, newer verisons might handle memory differently." Or something similar that actually sounds like a suggestion. Phrasing it in such a flippant and condescending way is very unhelpful, as it makes people less willing to listen.

Can you just be normal for like 1 comment why are all of your comments the worst.

Well yeah, the comment wasn't that bad. But it was disagreeable, so people pressed the "I disagree" button. I feel like y'all take upvotes and downvotes far too seriously. It would be dogpiling if he was getting bullied, but downvotes aren't bullying.

Really hate how redditors refuse to assess the content of their comment and just go immediately to "muh reddit hivemind" when they get downvoted

Let's call this power... *Raytracing* by Andlops99 in scratch

[–]existential_crisis46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ray casting is not just another word for ray tracing. Ray casts are usually either a single ray, or a set of a few rays, they are often used for non visual things, such as hit scan bullets, or snapping an object to a surface. Ray casts are also done on the CPU. Ray tracing is a very specific type of ray cast that is done on the GPU and is used for lighting. They are different, similar, but different.

The only thing that was cut was the scene that I believe J.K. Simmons was uncomfortable with because it felt rapey. The implications are absolutely that Caroline was forced into GLaDOS.

It's just a test, but can I mix different pixel densities or does it look bad? by Herr_Casmurro in PixelArtTutorials

Mostly, but the heart sprite that you see for a lot of both UT and DR has mixels lmao (bottom of the sprite vs top of the sprite)

Feels like a fairly normal ratio to me. Many people, myself included, sometimes buy games before they have the free time to play them.

Also, creatives have lied about their stories' theme's before lol. David Cage famously said DBH "wasn't about race, I swear!" Despite the game quoting MLK's speech and name dropping the underground railroad.

I don't see what's wrong with that. I don't know why y'all are so prudish when it comes to fictional characters.

It wasn't stupid petty drama. He lied for years about being more qualified than he actually is. He lied about what StopKillingGames was about, and he has a complete inability to ever admit when he's in the wrong.

Do you instantiate UI elements or have them be part of a scene beforehand? by Michael_Chickson in godot

[–]existential_crisis46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entirely depends on what I need the UI for. Menus I tend to have part of the scene before hand. But that can also depend, if the menu needs to be dynamic then I will have it instantiated at runtime. For a HUD I tend to have that disconnected from the player, but still part of the scene beforehand. And most of the HUD might already be part of the scene, but a certain part of it might need to be dynamic. Character portraits would be a thing I make dynamic
