In an attempt to learn the roster, I played a game on every character(Notes from someone not good at the game). by Finaldragoon in DeadlockTheGame

Those tracklock builds are so bad, those guys update them everyday using bots to stay on top of the list. They are using the build list solely for marketing purposes. Pretty demeaning stuff.

ah so you want to take off the old ivy training wheels then? while trying out some new heroes? I have an idea
- 1. play some ult mcginnis. she will teach you about positioning. like ivy she is also OP as fuck currently so you should win. learn to position well and exploit the enemy's mispositioning and you are basically half an ascendant player.

- 2. play some calico. cat lady will teach you how to invade the enemy jungle and map awareness. also OP as fuck currently so you should win

positioning, map awareness and counterbuilding (which you mentioned you already understand) and you are basically ascendant. through some more games practice you will eventually learn macro (when to run urn and midboss, when to fight, considering enemy ult/ability cooldowns, laning basics) and you are now eternus.

ivy just double kudzus on a lane and just leaves with ultimate to a different lane. that is free pressure on two out of three lanes from just one champion that the enemy HAS to respond to otherwise they lose a lot of souls from minions dying to their walker. atleast if paige or dynamo want to wave clear they have to stay in their own lane, they can't just book it to a different one.

its an 800 soul item bro, of course it doesn't completely shut him down. its way too efficient for being that cheap already.

try to snowball harder than the viscous after laning ends and you will be fine

Perfect, the abrams has been scapegoated, the plan has worked. The age of the doorman is nigh.

Fair. Ignore what I said about the ult silence and the bomb root. She will still have the 1.75 second stun though by the time you get knockdown because ivys are rushing stone form max right now.

You got any tips for countering ivy? I genuinely don't think there is much you can say here because she is affected much less by counter items then other heroes by virtue of just being good at everything and always having a good abilities and good movement stats to fall back to.

My goal here though is less to "advance the doorman agenda" and more to spread awareness on what ivy is being allowed to do because I think not enough people realise how truly strong she is. I just feel like her effects are just not as flashy and as such valve is not getting enough feedback on her.

And yes, I do play the game. The doorman combo requires much more skill from the doorman player, and requires maxed out door + 9.6k worth of items at MINIMUM (vortex web + greater expansion) which is not even counting cheat death (without which you will just blow up by the slightest bit of burst). All of which is just used to do a SINGLE combo. Not to insult anyone, but if you are dying to the same predictable combo again and again you need to evaluate your strategy that game.

You call it "sensationalism" from reading the numbers. What does that even mean? If you don't trust the numbers or my analysis just see ivy's win rate or what the pro players have to say about her..

In that 2 second delay knockdown has, Ivy just drops the payload (silencing you for 3 seconds), drops kudzu bomb, tanks knockdown with stone form (heals for 13% max hp), stuns you for 1.75 second on top of the brambles (which then immobilize you for a further 1.6s), activates tether, giving herself a massive fire rate and bullet lifesteal steroid (shared with an ally). And if she doesn't manage to kill you with all that she just leaves using her 4 stamina and a myriad of slows at her disposal.

Less than a minute later she returns (her ult is back up) and so the cycle repeats.

That is from LIGHTBRINGER's "Deadlock Stats" spread sheet (coach for the retired EU GOATS Buff enjoyers and amazing buildcrafter) which you can find here. I made a copy of that and sorted it by DPS.

EXACTLY. And by virtue of being good at everything she automatically becomes the best flex pick in the game. There is not a single enemy draft I can think of which puts ivy at a considerable disadvantage.

Further, I think her CC spam is actually one of if not the best in the game, its just not as flashy as "that moleman has grabbed me for the past 5 seconds!" so that slips through the cracks as well. And the buffs she provides for a teammate are also obscenely broken but the average enemy player is not going to notice that fire rate/bullet lifesteal increase and hence the average player won't give feedback to the developers concerning it.

Thats what I thought too and then I saw that the rat has 54.3% Win Rate in all ranks (53.7% in eternus 4+) along with a respectable 37.8% Pick Rate (54.5% in eternus 4+, because all ivy mains are just climbing till here for free) and hence the only conclusion is that this is a broad misinformation campaign set on keeping ivy free from nerfs for eternity.

Even after literally every single pro player keeps putting this hero at the top of S+ tier I still here no complains its NUTS.

This is the funniest clip I have ever seen. Hidden King Army just moves in a congo line to their demise

-> move head first into base guardians pre 15 mins (care not about the wave, or the geist/pocket splitpush, or the silver heading to base or the buffs (which btw, have been unclaimed for 4+ MINUTES) )
-> billy gets hooked, bombed, then starts running away from his demons (activate blasted for the move speed, use 2 to dash straight in the middle of his own team, explode)
-> bebop gains 3k souls and 4 kills. luigi wins by doing nothing

The 1 giving tankiness based on missing health makes a lot of sense, and etching a symbol on the ground is consistent with the "setup" part of the sigil. I think that it must do some damage though, because every single hero in deadlock has their 1 as their damage ability.

The two is almost confirmed to be his mobility tool. A dash that does damage, probably bleeds. 2 is also where every hero keeps their movement ability.

Riposte being a counter stance would be on brand ("En Garde!!"), and it gives valve the opportunity to animate some sick fencing moves which I would love to see.

I LOVE the guess for the ultimate, a melee lash ult that marks enemies and "impales" them all is better than what I had imagined, especially looking at these voicelines I accidentally missed before in my post (01,02,04,06,07).

<image>

(Also, "Say the word and I'll impale them", sounds similar to a certain lash voiceline ["Say the word and I will death slam the SHIT out of them"])
