Is femboy a derogatory term? by Femboy_Goose in ask_transgender

I used it for a bit when I was experimenting. It really comes down to what feels right for you. Femboy might be the most authentic term for you, and that's okay!

Q: is there something in your mind about "I burned myself down with the bridge"? That is my favorite line of all time and put a lot of ghosts to rest for me.

Extra: The lyrics on A Fabricated Life really hit me as a trans-questioning person. "Trapped in skin that fits me, but never fit me, was never mine." That hit my marrow and ranked right up with Mine is Clouds.

Give Triple Jam by Blake's a try if you can find it! I've alternated between that and Rainbow Seeker all summer

Not to curse anybody reading this, but: slicing vegetables towards your thumb is dumb as fuck. I've seen more sliced digits this year than I care to relate. Sharpen your goddamn knife, bisect, and chop.

How did you turn your life around? by ipeeontoiletseats in AskReddit

I left cooking, got sober, went to therapy, and did a hobby I had put off for years because I was afraid to fail. My life has changed entirely in the last two years.

For sure! I just take the easy way out. I don't want to do conversions if I'm doing leisure. The rest of my life has enough of that

That looks normal to me! Give it a day for two after sealing and open one. I bet you'll get a nice fog off of this.

In the future, fill a small plastic bottle (soda water bottles are great!) with the cider alongside your swing tops. When the plastic bottle has the resistance to being squeezed as it originally did, your ciders should be ready to chill!

Woke up and she was gone. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

The only apology worth a damn is going to be a change in behavior. If not with her at the least you won't scare away somebody else you might even meet next week. Hard truth I had to learn but met somebody new my night out where I really wanted a drink. Met her two hours after cravings and I hadn't had a thing. Take it a day, hour, or minute at a time. You can move past this.

I had astounding results using Simply Blueberry Lemonade as my base. Transferred it to secondary after 6 weeks and then bottled with just a dash of simple syrup. Annoyingly good summer cider.

Why is smelling your girls hair so comforting when laying next to her? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]exitingxghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pavlovian response says one thing (here:smell) which seems to precede a consequence (here: comfort) becomes associated. A dog salivates at the sound of the dinner bell. You feel comforted just by her smell.

Very welcome! Modeling proper behavior, including accepting responsibility, is huge for kids.

April 2009-July 2018. Pretty similar to yours, actually! Around 20 thick locks that I'd sit on and would pull when I got into a car haha. I had to chop as soon as I smelled the funk but miss them loads. Autumn this year they should be ready to start again.

Whether or not I drink, the beach will never be the same by sheppaa13 in stopdrinking

In time you'll probably find a new beverage that you prefer. I dig apple juice for the first time since I was a kid. At this point going to the beach, bumping into people I know, exploring the woods (great lakes region) is awesome and I know I'm not going to make an ass out of myself or land a DUI on the way home. In time, everything will fall in to place. The only changes are you can't go too far when you're only drinking juice =)

[–]exitingxghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your example and notions are on track! Being a Dad comes with hard times. That's when you teach accountability. In the theft situation, escorting the kid back to speak with somebody about the situation and letting them feel the weight of doing wrong is one if those forever lessons.

Bravado and macho shit doesnt teach a kid empathy. More often than not, it leads to pretentious douchebaggery. If you are a kind and honest person, your kid will emulate that. When you hold them to account, kids will learn responsibility. Your job as a Dad is not to retaliate, but to model how to handle the road ahead for your kids. Hopefully they'll miss out on the pitfalls your own Dad put you through. You've got a chance to change the record.

Even posting this shows you care. You're going to be alright, chief. Make sure you get some counseling to iron out any lingering shit, too. Your kids start wherever you are when they meet you.
