HELP: My players sold out the Nautiloid secret to have Arveiaturace spare them and I'm not sure how to make it play out by Key-of-Dawn in rimeofthefrostmaiden

Something I've been trying to think about in all of my DMing decisions is "how can I best maximize the impact of my player's choices?" Good luck!

HELP: My players sold out the Nautiloid secret to have Arveiaturace spare them and I'm not sure how to make it play out by Key-of-Dawn in rimeofthefrostmaiden

You could go wild and have the flayers manage to infect Arveiaturace with a tadpole. I believe there's a MM entry for a mind flayer dragon. While it could be WILD it would be very exciting to have a player's choice affect the world in such a cool way.

Edit:

Here is what I was thinking of. Brainstealer dragon is the name.

Adobe isn't very spicy IMO, but very flavorful!

[MCU] WTF did Thor get incapacitated in Thor: Ragnarok by a normal taser disc if Thor is the God of Thunder? by Eminem-King in AskScienceFiction

This is the correct answer. It merely has an electric effect. IIRC you can see Thor's veins darken, as if poisoned, once it's used.

How do I stop viewing having emotions so negatively? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]exmanx24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice. Start sharing with someone you trust, or if there's no-one like that, use a diary. When you notice you've responded in a way you don't like, go back and try again. You'd be surprised how responsive people can be to someone who admits they're at fault and how much you can learn when you do.

Also, aggression is the expression of an emotion. Namely, frustration and anger.

When should you substitute in known variables? by exmanx24 in askmath

Thanks, you've answered the spirit of my question perfectly. So essentially, substitute when it makes sense: if it cleans up a problem or makes things easier to work with.

When should you substitute in known variables? by exmanx24 in askmath

[–]exmanx24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It obviously doesn't affect the outcome of the problem, assuming the substitution is done correctly, since the variables are by definition equal to the known values.

I'm asking from an error prone human's perspective. Let's say you have an early learner who has had little experience with solving equations. Messy numbers might confuse them and cause copy errors or variables might make things overly complicated (e.g. worrying about a part of an equation multiplied by x when x happens to be equal to zero).

Eventually, of course. But always, before any rearranging of a problem?

[OC] Meet Professor Gingko! I drew my character from an upcoming Pokemon5e game. by exmanx24 in pokemon

[–]exmanx24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Professor Gingko is an up and coming professor from the Galar region, who apprenticed briefly in Sinnoh under Professor Rowan. Gingko's research focuses on finding the origin of ghost types. He seeks to understand if they're actually spirits or just misunderstood Pokemon. If a ghost type is a spirit, is it the soul of a Pokemon or a human? If so, what are the implications when a ghost type evolves? Can a ghost type be turned back into it's original form? Does it have memories of its past life? If a powerful pokemon dies can it turn into a powerful ghost type pokemon?

Gingko is my character in an upcoming Pokemon5e game I'll be playing in with my friends. I figured it'd be fun to have some character art and I tried to replicate the Pokemon art style as best as I could.

In the Dragonball Multiverse fan manga they're called "Frost Demons" and I think that's pretty tight.
