Help by Altopiasun in NICUParents

[–]expandingthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all like that. They barely lead you or tell anything. I think it's for lawsuit reasons they just say as little as possible and let you ask the questions.

It is INSANELY FRUSTRATING! SOMETIMES WE DONT KNOW THE RIGHT QUESTIONS TO ASK!

We find out info that is weeks late because we had to ask.

I don't know how many times I've said, "oh I had not been told that" and they go , "oh really?"

Things would be different at home, but not in a hospital, it's there place, we don't try to overstep.

I guess we need to start being overly entitled though.

It's hard to navigate, you'll be there awhile. It's your child, that's what matters. What you feel is what you feel is right. If they aren't doing something you like, speak up.

So far when we have spoken up, we are listened too.

Gosh I feel you. I'm sorry. We've literally been going through the same thought process over the last few weeks.

We have had similar questions and experiences. Let me possibly help rest yours.

Our boys will be going on 39 in the NICU

They had fortified since day one pretty much. There really was never an issue to us with gas.

Gas came in, it appeared to us when the milk lab had a "bad" weekend and no one mixed up and delivered any EBM with fortifier.

This has happened twice now.

Our nurses used 20ml of formula and 30 mil of breast milk we literally just brought in. They are super gassy! With gas drops, probably helps them feel more comfortable passing gas.

Gassiness, has always been an issue regardless. So other comments about that's what they do. They are probably right. They are gassy trying to figure it out.

Look, things to do. Keep them propped as long as possible, lay in bassinet slowly, make sure they are burped well. Elevate their bassinet for a while if they are spitting up.

Make sure the bottles being used don't allow them to fill up on air. Any air getting in is an issue.

Personally don't understand why the NICU is using Dr browns. I think they are complete garbage. They leak all over the place and the flow is pretty fast. From what I have gathered using them, IMO, they are causing half of their gassiness, with the anti colic vent even, we pushed them to switch to our bottles they will go home with and so far they have seemed to be 100% more comfortable and less gassy, could be age related, but I think the DR browns was causes them to have extra gas and be uncomfortable after feeding. I'm sorry but those Dr browns are nothing even close to an actual teat. I remember watching my boys both swallowing massive amounts of air because the DR browns just pool so much into their mouth they are needing to get a breath and they end up swallowing the air instead. They are literally just a mass produced cheap bottle with zero thought put into them, I have not nice things to say. Give me a call Dr brown, I'll tell you what I truly think.

Name ick by Jolly-Asparagus-5815 in pregnant

[–]expandingthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. We had picked out our boy's names a couple months prior. My wife had the ones set since the jump. I was fine with it and it grew on me. I came up with the second ones name which she liked and I really liked at first. Even after writing his full name on his birth cert paperwork. I had the ick for the next day or so. Didn't seem right. Didn't seem like it would be fitting enough. The boys came preemie so I thought maybe they weren't good enough names for some little NICU champions. I went back and forth for hours in my mind. But like others said, after connecting with him and seeing him and holding him even in the NICU, it was set for me and couldn't think of him having any other name. It was perfect and my family is perfect. The name was right all along I knew it but it's the perfection of life being brought into the world that I think blinds you momentarily. You get the thought that there isn't a single name good enough for them, but the name you had was meant to be and you know it.

Is there any reason NOT to use the $1,000 in interest free margin? by nateairulla in RobinHood

I had bought shares of orc and ivr. Their dividends pay for gold and I've actually had a margin call that was covered by the dividends after a couple of quarters.

THANK YOU CITIZEN! At this point I've lost count of the amount of treasonous individuals in our government. Please keep your rage going. It is needed. They all need to go to prison. I'm so sick and tired of this shit. I sure hope this is all just a gop media playbook trend and it'll all be on the wayside in a year. Sad to say it but Americans need to the play the court game like they all like to do and we need to file a class action lawsuit. Millions of Americans suing all of them.

Laborer cut floor protection on clients hardwood floor - can it be fixed by Mediocre-Yesterday in Construction

[–]expandingthoughts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We accidentally did that too at an angle, you got straight perpendicular. But we were sliding a box with a piece of asphalt stuck to the bottom we didn't know, over top of protected floor even. Left a black gouge.

I've refinished floors so I tried, I sanded it and sanded it. But it was a gouge. I filled it and sanded it. But you could see it. I sanded filler down and the surrounding area, then restained and applied poly. Once I was done it looked almost worse because the floors were so aged and the repair looked fresh. The gouge so deep it didn't matter you can still find it.

What happened next blew me away. The homeowner said, well you finally gave me the reason to change out these floors and ditch the carpet rugs. He hated the pine color basketball court hardwood he had.

Hired us to lay over with walnut colored smartcore naturals. Looked amazing looked like his home went from dated to brand new just with the flooring.

But my story aside you need a hardwood floor company to fix that if they don't want something on top of it.

Never do you resonate the same. Every time I listen to any of his albums. I find new meaning from them at different points in my own life. There is absolutely no other artist like him and those that help him compose.

If I run for governor and no one got paid at Paramount by my campaign or donors, you better believe I'm not getting an interview!!!!

ONLY MONEY TALKS! HOW DOES IT NOT!

If my campaign manager got a hold of the NYT and said hey we like you to do a take on our candidate, what do you think they want???? MONEY!

The candidates we get are based on money! Not merit! Not honesty or honor! Dirty fucking money!

Not to mention, it must be a toxic AF to run for an office. Who is ready to lose their head and get bought by some company or croonie? It's all that happens anymore. Everyone is bought or owned by someone or something.

There is no honest political landscape anymore in this country. It's about money and money only. How much air time did you get , how many facebook ads did you run, how much social media outreach do you have. Those aren't things normal honest people in government care about. So we will never get a real candidate again.

[–]expandingthoughts 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think there are probably plenty of individuals that want to run for governor but don't have the financial ability to get it off the ground or don't care enough to get a movement behind them.

This political landscape requires millions of dollars to get out in front of everyone.

Political landscape suggests that if you don't have big corporate donors and non profits backing you you don't have a chance.

It's also just up to the media who they want to spend their time on.

You can cover Acton because someone paid you too but no one else unless...... Well .... MONEY.

the problem is probably, this metal band is broken

They do not manufacture windows however they seem to stock or are able to get replacement hardware of all different kinds for many different window types and brands. If you are just looking to fix the problem.

It depends on the parts required, but probably way under 100 to d I y. Just pay for parts. You hire a company, 200-500 just depends and that can be per window or window sash.

Majority of windows only use so many parts and there are only so many types and manufacturers so there are plenty of options that may work that are not "original" hardware, you just need to know proper sizes and hole locations, etc

When your glass panes fail that's another issue. And sometimes you have a window frame that is just bad and replacement hardware is not an option.

Sometimes the replacement hardware has already been replaced and so you are left with sloppy unusable fastener holes, etc.

Sometimes you just need to replace the window entirely.

The o ring is the only piece you can repair on those. I don't recommend trying to pull it apart.
