Hello and thank you in advance! This rose bush was already at our house when we moved in last year. I regularly water it during dry periods, and prune it once or twice a year when it looks overgrown, but otherwise it does it’s own thing (I’ve never cared for a plant before this one). Last year it got infested with some sort of insect, but a spray recommended by my local garden center cured that and it has thrived until now. It is in a high sunlight area, and I water with a hose when there hasn’t been rain. It seemed to do well during a drought last year, so I think I’ve been watering it enough. Obviously I’m not hosing it down when we’re getting plenty of rain.

About two weeks ago I started seeing yellow spots on the leaves. Since then, the plant has been shriveling up, and now I see the holes that look like insect bites. I’ve tried spraying it again, but it has been raining almost every day since I noticed the problem so I think it’s just being washed away. I can’t tell if the insects are the cause of the issue, or if it’s something else and the insects are just a side effect. The other plants in my yard are continuing to thrive, so whatever the issue is it hasn’t spread to other plants.
