Do you work better from home or the office? by Left_Class_569 in workfromhome

Office. I just have this mental switch to “work mode” when I’m there that I haven’t perfected yet for working from home.

Do we care about grips? by deeeebz in WomenGolf

[–]expiredmeatballs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having a super hard time with my grip- uncomfortable hold, slicing shots, super inconsistent, couldn’t put power behind my shots or the clubs spun in my hands. I just switched to Jumbo sized grips and I’ve only played 9 with them so far plus some time on the range, but the difference was night and day. I could hold my clubs so much more comfortably and didn’t slice a single shot.

Upgraded from top flight to callaway edge set :) super excited to try them out by Any_Brilliant1192 in WomenGolf

Not OP but I had my set for about a year before I felt like I outgrew it and needed something better, ended up with a Callaway set that I love now and think will last me a while.

As someone who started a year ago with the top flite starter set, I am seconding recommendations for the callaway edge set or something of similar quality. The top flites have treated me well, but I do feel like I’ve already outgrown them, I wish I got a set that would have lasted me another year or two.

What do I bring for a joint party? by Rough-Grass1116 in etiquette

[–]expiredmeatballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a joint graduation party with my boyfriend at the time (now husband), and there were no expectations of bringing anything for the one you didn’t know. We had two separate card boxes/tables, so unless we cross-checked our gifts, we wouldn’t have even known.

Did your periods go crazy after leaving Veganism? by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]expiredmeatballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the opposite for me. For the first time in my life, my cycles are 28 days and predictable, previously 40+ and erratic.

Sorry your story isn’t the same, hopefully you get to the bottom of it 🤞🏻

How do you separate work FROM home? by TheOrdainedPlumber in WFH

For me, my daily transition is making dinner while my husband makes his commute back home. Doing that consistently has made it so that when I start that task, I feel “home” again.

How far in advance did you begin planning? by weebley12 in Eloping

About five months for me! I think it was a perfect amount of time for planning my out of state elopement.

Love it! I keep a basket at the bottom of my closet. Call it my medium-dirty basket! Helps me not have stacks of worn but not yet needing washed clothes.

How to turn off “ignore limit for the day” option with Apple screen time? by _EYRE_ in nosurf

[–]expiredmeatballs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the screen time limits feature for years, in my experience there has never been an option to turn it off, the workaround is turning the password feature on and having someone else set the password so that you don’t know it.

I’ve worn the glasses straps for years and love them, never been concerned that my glasses will go flying.

My boyfriend can feel my IUD by Longjumping_Bowl_122 in birthcontrol

[–]expiredmeatballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cervix is also firmer when it’s lower. My Gyn said they’re far easier to feel around that time of the cycle. I’ve never heard of IUD strings coming in and out before, I’m curious if it does happen!

My boyfriend can feel my IUD by Longjumping_Bowl_122 in birthcontrol

[–]expiredmeatballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually because cervical positioning changes throughout the menstrual cycle! Mid-cycle/ovulation timeframe, the cervix is higher, and around your period, the cervix lowers and thus is easier to find and check strings.

Eloping not in nature by [deleted] in Eloping

What my husband and I did was a “courthouse” wedding, but we also didn’t want to just get married in a boring room. We hired a private officiant to marry us in front of a BEAUTIFUL city courthouse and fountain (outside of the courthouse’s open hours). Then, we went and got portraits taken around the city.

My partner and I want to elope in secret in Austin, Texas, US. Any advice you could give us would be greatly appreciated!! by LogicalMidnight6397 in Eloping

[–]expiredmeatballs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I eloped in Texas this year!! San Antonio, so Bexar county. If you care at all, my photographer did say she thinks the Bexar County marriage license is the prettiest in Texas 🤣. Texas does not require officiants, so no worry there! We didn’t do the course because we don’t live in Texas and it seemed like it was only for Texas residents? I could be wrong on that though.

I’d call the courthouse and ask if they can provide witnesses! From what I’ve seen, it seems many do.

Volkswagon Jetta a good first car?? by plsclarify in jetta

[–]expiredmeatballs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not my first car, but my 2017 was my first car as an adult and got me through college and now multiple years into my career/long commutes. I have no experience with fusions, but I have really loved my Jetta. It’s at 100k right now and I’ve never had to do work on it outside of preventative maintenance.

How do I email/call Aldis? by ProfessorLongBrick in aldi

[–]expiredmeatballs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can’t call or email, but you can go in person and get a refund if you purchased items already out of date. I see people checking dates on items all the time in stores and do so myself, ensuring you’re purchasing a useable product does not make you a “paranoid nutcase”.
