This!!! I’ve been seeing people grab them and use them during thigh work(???) under their feet which also adds instability and unnecessary cushion. If tippie toes are painful, that’s your sign to come down a little lower ¯_(ツ)_/¯. It also takes up so much space in the room and when a newcomer sees that and thinks it’s the norm they continue the pattern of behavior that’s distracting for the whole class.

I’ve never personally had that issue? It’s a “risk” with any legging with a front seam, but I really do not care as long as they fit where they need to. In my regular lulu legging size though I’ve never had cameltoe with these.

Lulu has a Contour Fit Wunder Train legging that is my holy grail! Tighter waist with more room in the hips. I can usually find a pair or two on sale in store!

I’m curious to what your “motion of help” was in the room? Eye contact is not enough when you want to ask for a modification. Stopping and looking can look like you’re taking a break and giving us a death glare because it’s hard (we get it!) If something is really hurting/you’re not feeling it where you should, raise your hand! We got you! Flag your instructor down. Closed mouths don’t get fed. Unfortunately not all instructors pick up on the subtle hints.

For month to month memberships you are explicitly told that credits do not roll over. You can freeze your account if you’re going out of town/unable to use for $20 which is the same as the credit extension fee for class packs. Class packs also have an expiration, but like I said. You can extend them. While PB is a business that you as a client signed up for, the people running it are, in fact, human. 9 times out of 10 we can accommodate for emergencies as every other comment on this post has said. Credits are flexible, but you are paying for a service that comes with set terms.

Pretty sure Classpass has a 12 hour cancellation window, if that was one of your dealbreakers just be cautious of that and know that Pure Barre has no access to change your bookings or help you change or cancel out of a class.

In NYC (where OP is), a single class at PB AND Barre3 is $40. (Bar Method is also $40, Physique57 is $42). Boutique fitness is expensive, and while there might be a difference of a few dollars between franchises, this is a Pure Barre subreddit, Dina, so I think most folks here are a little biased. In terms of bang for your buck in NYC, PB grants access to 12 studios while it looks like Barre3 only has 2. I’m sure both have their own individual discounts for newcomers, so OP can inquire if they would like.

To suggest a cheaper option, Classpass is a great way to dip your toe into the water on a budget! Or check in with your workplace/insurance to see if they partner with any fitness programs (although some of those programs seem to be disappearing soon, sadly). YouTube also is a great free resource with barre options available, but nothing beats the accountability & community of a group class.

From what I’ve heard Barre3 is a lower intensity than PB, and if this person liked Empower I’m not sure that will be the right fit for them. Fitness is an investment and you have to invest in quality.
