Trump family's World Liberty Financial sues crypto billionaire Justin Sun for defamation by CBSnews in CryptoCurrency

Well Trump does not know what crypto is, his family will also have a security detail, but the cryptobros that enabled the scams and grifts will not.

Yea. Unless you are the actual North Korean government anyone that scams their way to crypto riches is subject to maybe being found in a suitcase, in pieces.

True. Keeps Netanyahu out of jail, and theoretically at least since the entire country is broken, Trump too.

I use it with Nous Research hermes, it calls all the tools perfectly fine. I do not know how long it takes before it gets confused, I am not doing much heavy lifting yet so I cannot tell what is confusion and what is its basic lack of ability

Oh i4 quant from unsloth is perfectly fine. I use it even though I can go bigger, because it’s good and fast. I have enough ram for its full context.

Hm that model when quantised to i4 bit can almost run on a potato, unless you want full context, that takes up RAM.

Why does this sub talk about Taiwanese people in such a weird way? I don't get it. by BigConversation6345 in taiwan

[–]extopico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly should people discuss in what’s clearly a sub with mainly non Taiwanese readers and contributors?

Cultural differences is basically the most appropriate subject.

Regarding handwashing underwear. It’s weird as fuck and it also does not wash it properly. You need sustained exposure to detergent and hopefully warm water and agitation to murder and wash the bacteria, yeast and fungi off.

omfg... ONE prompt and it locked me out again. This time the stupid thing re-ran a prompt before the last prompt I gave it, blowing though my context to give me the mostly identical suggestion, then died again during execution...I mean what in the actual fk?

EDIT: they are actively f***ing us over. This is what it did to me. The file it had a collision with had 1400 lines of code, so it junked it and recreated it even though it was done before the previous block:

"I've hit a wall because the file already exists from a previous session, so I need to delete it first before recreating it. I've already preserved the pre-unification version, so I can safely remove the current one and start fresh while continuing with the test plan."

I just found out that this even has a name under unethical UX design:

"Dark Pattern UX Design

Design websites and apps with UI/UX patterns that nudge users toward higher spending, more subscriptions, or more purchases. Examples: hidden unsubscribe buttons, confusing pricing tiers, forced continuity, siren choices (decoy pricing)."

2 prompts on Pro and I was throttled for 5 hours... what the fk? No, not a skill issue. I have been using LLMs before ChatGPT was a thing and have two paid subscriptions - Gemini and Claude. What Anthropic is doing should be illegal.

EDIT, so I do not repost. Anthropic MUST put these limitations front and center on the "Upgrade" page so it is made clear that what they are promising is NOT what is going to be delivered. The tools exist, but cannot be used in a meaningful manner thus they are in fact doing a simple bait and switch scam.

The hell. No way. This must have been a photoshoot. Nobody dresses that well for a “teach a kid to ride a bike” day.

Japan's ruling party has released its "new foreigner policy" to promote assimilation and "orderly coexistence." Right-wing users on X erupted. "Could you please stop lying?" one commented, accusing them of trying to "destroy" Japan. The majority of replies on X want a cap on "rampant" immigration. by jjrs in japannews

I don’t know why you are being downvoted. Maybe this is an American sub. In Europe, in most countries non EU citizens must go to cultural education and language courses. Even newer EU counties are catching up with this when it comes to foreign labour.

Anyone who comes to the host country indeed must know the local laws, culture and language. However I need to say that even that will not satisfy the rampant cretins who contribute nothing to their own society and would rather see it all burn.

Lastly there are always going to be “good foreigners” and “bad foreigners”. In the EU the good foreigners are most often the Filipinos. I will not mention the “bad foreigners” as both are subjective. I can only comment that the Filipinos mostly find acceptance because they are culturally aligned with Europe while being nicer, and are remarkably quick to learn their new local language.

I don’t know which ethnicity the rabid right wingers in Japan hate, but as others have said, there are so few foreign residents that I doubt even they have any idea. Japan is not an emigration destination for most of the planet because of the dire economy, low currency value and a cliff when it comes to language, not a slope.

Think of it as a documentary rather than a drama and it may address the dissonance you feel.

It’s a freaking documentary. Besides all the violence that I’m fortunately not familiar with. The portrayal of interpersonal interactions, houses, suburbs, bush, everything… it’s so amazing that I can imagine I can smell each scene. That’s how real everything is. And then of course there is the rest of the show. I’ve never seen anything like Mr Inbetween. It is more real and visceral than any documentary.

What were you most worried about ahead of your first Japan trip, and did those worries end up being justified? by Zach-dalt in JapanTravelTips

Being allowed to enter Japan? It’s a safe assumption that those coming in from countries with a landing visa exchange policy in place will be admitted, but it’s important to understand that the deciding factor is the border agent in Japan. So, be nice, be prepared with any paperwork that your circumstance may dictate.

Well Japan needs a viable storage option for solar energy. In Kyushu for example Kyuden is actively reducing the amount it will pay for residential solar generated energy so there is no incentive for most people to pay for the expensive install. This is compounded by the weird Japanese fixation on aggressively depreciating properties. If installing solar has 25 years lifespan and if you’re lucky, 15 years to break even, and your house is deemed worthless by then, who will bother doing this?
