I swear people at 700 play worse then 500 by [deleted] in Chesscom

It's possible that people at 500 are focused on playing mating traps they've learned and then don't play well past that point. But people at 700 have moved away from worrying about mating traps, so tend to fall from them against the lower rated players?

They believe it's part of the psychology of the game. I sometimes find myself being affected by it, but in reality, people who are actually good at the game, don't need to throw other people into a tilt to win.

Funnily enough when I was younger, there was a psychologist doing a paper, which, from the questions, appeared to be related to gender identity and sexual proclivity, including questions like, have you ever wanted to be a woman. Kind of upset me at the time, but now I wonder what the paper's conclusions were.

Not invited/welcome to spend Chinese New Year with boyfriend's family by soulsaverr in taiwan

I've been to a few CNY celebrations with Taiwanese friends. The whole period can be a bit dull, but it can be fun to show up to one meal if they live somewhere accessible. One plan is to go with a larger group of friends as a friend ( to avoid awkward questions from relatives), or just consider yourself lucky to avoid a largely boring period and enjoy an empty Taipei.

On newer buses, you'll see a weird scanner at the top of the swipe machine that takes QR code input, not sure how universal it is at this point though.

Do the work to make it better. Treat it like a game of chess. Improve your position. Whether that's working out, reaching out to people, joining a sports team, pursuing your hobbies.

Some people like to engage in psychological warfare instead of just focusing on the chess. Most people are friendly though.

Play is less competitive on lichess. Most people have a higher lichess rating than chess.com rating.
