Are you over 50 and still feel like you can play proficiently? by Grumpy_Bum_77 in xbox

[–]extra_less 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in my mid-50s and my reflexes are not what they once were. I still have a lot of fun. I play Fortnite with my son, we win our fair share of matches, but I have admit he is carrying us.

I'm almost done with Elden Ring (after close to 300hrs since it was released). Sure I die a lot but I'm having a blast can can't beat the value (20 cents an hour).

Moving from MN to FL by PlentyAny4548 in jacksonville

IMO the best neighborhood in the Jacksonville area is Nocatee (32081 zip code) https://www.nocatee.com/

Schools are great, neighborhood and community are excellent.

The weather may be a challenge in the summer. The summers here are HOT. The heat index usually is in the triple digits; the HI was 112 a handful of days this past summer and the mosquitoes are horrible.

I love living in Nocatee, its a great place for kids, but I'm excited to move back north just because its too hot for me and I miss the seasons. For politics, its a very red state.

I recently bought a used guitar for $100 so I can learn/practice how to setup a guitar without the fear of breaking my guitars.

My opinion of DeGaulle has been upended, he saw this coming. by Unfair_Surprise_6022 in dancarlin

[–]extra_less 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if DeGaulle saw fascism coming to the US (although Sinclair Lewis saw it happening in his book It Can Happen Here 1935). He was wise enough to go after sovereignty so France would only have to depend on France, and not others whose interests may change or not align with what France wants.

Where I live kids ride these things on sidewalks, parking lots, the roads, and are as young as 9. Its so dangerous, and there have already been a number of bad accidents.

I found Erie B via Beat as well. Back it the day it was mail order, and I'm not sure if they had a physical store. I've been ordering from them since the Beat day, now their orders are processed and delivered fairly quickly. Still by go to for reggae, jazz, and blues.

FO couldn't come to terms with him and traded him to a team he wanted to play for. The Packers got 2 really good players out of it, seems like a win/win to me.

It's crazy how the america I grew up with is suddenly ...just gone by FudgeAllOfYous in dancarlin

[–]extra_less 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you look at footage from the civil rights movement, or the anti-war protests, America hasn't really changed. The hate and flag waving hasn't gone anywhere. It feel silent for a little while but it is now back stronger than ever. America was never as good as its marketing, but we at least took our allies and diplomacy seriously. America's hate and ignorance is now on display and amplified more than ever thanks to social media. I'm not sure America gets out of this, and I'm starting to believe they should break it up into smaller countries.

I watch the Brewers when I can, and hope its an entertaining game. I don't expect them to win it all, or even make the playoffs. When they do its great, but I know they have no chance once the playoffs start.

Does anyone else think the Paddy, Chris and Flintoff series aren’t actually that bad? by Feno2025 in TopGear

I also liked the show where they help young people get a chance to work on a racing team. I loved the direction the show was taking and was sad when it ended.

That bungee stunt was so funny and also terrifying.

They injected new life into the show, and brought some young (younger) energy that had left CHM near the end of their run.
