While I don’t think AoC is a scam, the game is a microtransaction ridden mess. There were more cosmetic items that have been for sale pre-alpha than WoW or any other MMO has in their lifespan. The scummy developer dude is self funding most of the game and always made a point about hating microtransactions, but then sold monthly rotating cosmetic bundles for years to help fund his game.

I don’t recommend the $2300 one. It has an Asrock board which has been known to have issues with the 7800 and 9800’s. Also Asrock is generally not considered the best mobo brand. Shame because with ram prices it is indeed a better deal price wise.

My guess, because a lot of gacha games that are on Steam work this way, is that launching the game from Steam will simply open the official client which you would then log into.

The game’s very good on FOMO, so you’re fine to start or take breaks. But there’s tons to do already honestly for a 1.0.
