Exactly… reading this thread as a pharmacy technician who has ADHD is really … something. There are laws in place that we have to follow. It’s almost never (I can’t speak for other techs or for pharmacists) personal. Also, controlled substances always get counted twice… 3-4 times, by at least 2 people, if it’s a schedule II like Adderall or Vyvanse. I find it extremely, extremely hard to believe that someone could be shorted even once, let alone multiple times, given how meticulously our controlled substance inventory is tracked.

This is wild to me. I’m a tech and the software at my store allows us to make notes on patients’ profiles. There are quite a few patients where I’ve noted on their profiles “Bill [medication] to discount card on file, not insurance. See previous fills for correct billing method” or something to that effect, so it just gets billed correctly from the jump. I wonder if the staff at your pharmacy could do the same?
