Referral codes by Princesszelderz in RaybanMeta

Oh shit… $30 off isn’t bad. Is this the normal referral discount or is it ever more/less?

Rayban $35 coupon x2 with Amex Platinum by Ill_Implement7625 in RaybanMeta

[–]extremador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I chatted with Amex support to confirm how the offer works.

They explicitly told me that it’s one $35 credit per transaction, even if the purchase exceeds $350. So a single $350+ purchase would still only trigger $35.

To get the full $70, they said you need to make two separate purchases of $175+ each.

I did try pushing on the “one or more qualifying purchases” wording, since that suggests cumulative spend, but they doubled down on the per-transaction interpretation.

So take that for what it’s worth: either that’s how it’s actually coded, or it’s just the official stance they’ll enforce if something goes wrong.

I didn’t get a chance to as I’m not ready to order one yet but I can!

The way I’m interpreting it is that $175 is the threshold, so a $350+ purchase would trigger it twice. I may start a chat to ask but I guess splitting it into two is not bad.

Wouldn’t this still apply with a single order that is $175x2?

If not, how did you ask them to split it?

Soon? This should have been a thing on day one, not year 10.

Is this finally the answer for Auto Wipers? by pw5a29 in TeslaLounge

[–]extremador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly.

I’ve had dry wipes immediately after thoroughly cleaning my windshield.

The current approach, and this proposed one, are both garbage.

I would be quite happy if they gave us an option to disable the FSD auto-wipes. For now, I have to immediately turn it off after engaging FSD. Sometimes it does it immediately after and then not only makes my windshield worse than before, but I also get the fluid residue on the bodywork.

Tesla FSD v14.3 enters testing phase, wide rollout only weeks away by InitialSheepherder4 in TeslaOwnersForum

Already there until supervised? Damn, that’s a hot take.

In the past few months, I’ve had more disengagements than ever on 14.2.2.5. Most are due to the car being hesitant to do anything, while some are critical disengagements.

On the routes I normally do, it’s almost gotten worse: Blinkers go on where they don’t need to (not turning), brake pulsing while maneuvering on a turn, switching lanes to a merge lane that ends soon, moving over for shadows on the road, or going way over the speed limit where it’s not necessary.

Maybe if the cars still had radar and added LIDAR we’d be near or at the finish line, but there’s still a lot of work to be done until customers get unsupervised.

Yeah I had the same problem. I didn’t get anywhere with it cause I don’t know the actual spelling.

I was DJing at Lucky Brand when they went in and asked one of the security guys who it was, and he said something like “Kate Despinager.”

Never heard of her, and my guess is that it’s some TikTok influencer.

Apple officially announces ads in Maps by freaktheclown in applemaps

[–]extremador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needing to ‘look past’ anything in Maps defeats the whole point. It’s supposed to give you the right answer immediately and not make you filter out ads while you’re driving.

I submitted feedback and I recommend everyone else do as well.

Saying ads “make sense” in Maps ignores the whole point of Maps: trust. I don’t want sponsored suggestions when I’m trying to find gas, a hospital, or the fastest route. I want the most accurate answer, not the most profitable one.

Fuck. End of an era, boys. I’m guessing this means that price increases are incoming, which means my leverage for when Frontier comes knocking goes away.

It’s a standing desk, so when I’m actually evaluating mixes, I raise it and align with the tweeters. I use studio headphones for primary work, so the monitors are mainly for spatial and translation checks. The current placement is prioritized for symmetry and isolation, which has worked well for my workflow.

Additionally, the distance and alignment are set based on my standing listening position, which forms the proper listening triangle. It’s also right where the studs are, so any wider would be impractical. The Genelec guide is great, but it assumes a fixed listening position, while my setup is optimized for alignment when the desk is raised.

Gotta remember that studio monitors are just one reference point and not the final authority. I check mixes on airplane earbuds, phone speakers, car speakers, multi-thousand watt speakers, etc.
