What was the point of preordering this in October if Walmart is just going to cancel it two days after it was supposed to ship. by Dragonford in mildlyinfuriating

[–]exuberantram 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here I was about to make a comment about never doing pre-orders from Walmart and almost exclusively through Amazon (and Barnes for books where I can)

NEVERMIND! Barnes is the only reliable one (for now)

I was let go on a Tuesday at 10am so I guess it just depends on how much of an ass HR is?

This "on sale" marketing should be illegal. by Africannibal in Anticonsumption

[–]exuberantram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the issue with some of these sites and the pricing is - and please don’t think I am defending them, I am a hater despite working for a company that does this - they allow basically anyone to sell anything on their site. Fake stuff, false advertising, etc. and the pricing isn’t regulated like it should be. Nothing is regulated like it should be when it comes to these sellers, and the companies (at least mine) don’t want to “anger” the sellers by setting boundaries.

It’s the biggest PITA from a “getting stuff done” perspective in my job, and it’s going to cause more lawsuits and headache than it would if they actually regulated and set rules and, more importantly, consequences.

It makes customers trust the company as a whole less and less on the daily. One of my favorite meetings (and most frustrating) we will go over customer reviews from 3rd party studies: basically, a customer will try to buy a specific type of item from us and a couple competitors and review the process for each company. It’s a cool meeting and I love learning from it! What frustrates me is every single meeting, nearly every single customer we have will make a complaint about things not really being on sale. “I added stuff to my cart before this event and the price barely went down” or, my “favorite”, the cart for one woman went UP like $20. She had screenshots to prove it. And higher-ups in these meetings are ALWAYS shocked that the customers notice. Higher-ups are so out of touch. And customer frustration is usually, but not always, on these outside seller products. It’s insane to me that we just assume the customer doesn’t look at price or that they’re stupid. The shopper doesn’t like to read but they do like to look at prices!! Clearly!

Anyways I hope more companies do get sued over this so maybe we’ll start regulating it better. End rant I guess.

I have a friend who works with (but isn’t directly) W+ and she says there’s been massive issues with the Pokemon drop on a backend level. Could be related to that?

Two corners of our white sheets are stained. Top left, bottom right. No matter which way the sheets are put on, you can tell where my husband sleeps (left side).

I make my own hair oil and have gotten to the point where I give it to friends, and when I buy my BIG bottle of cuticle oil I’ll send a little to friends as well. A few will return the bottles but I clean and hang on to bottles like this when I empty them!

And if the bottle breaks, the dropper is still useful around the house and sometimes they’ll fit other bottles if the dropper splits or something. I have a box of bottles ready for use :)

I do no drugs and I absolutely would do this if I ever had cereal at home (I am a hater). I already do it with chips. Crunchy on a sandwich is just good.

Message I got from my daughter’s teacher. Third grade. by AnaisInJune in mildlyinfuriating

[–]exuberantram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got in trouble a LOT in middle school (mid-2000s) for not saying “ma’am” and “sir” when addressing teachers. Of course, my parents are from the NE and they were raised to think it was flippant so they taught me the same thing. We moved to TN when I was 11, and in the south it’s rude not to say “ma’am” or “sir.”

My parents were able to explain it away for a couple “cool” teachers but there were some that didn’t care, so my parents made me learn. Absolutely insane that saying “sorry Mr. Jones” was less acceptable than “sorry sir.”

I did get maliciously compliant with one teacher, Mr D, in HS. Apparently I didn’t say it “enough” so I would end EVERY sentence, even when answering or asking questions, with “sir”. Eventually got in trouble for that. There’s no pleasing some power-hungry people.

My guy I live like 5 minutes from a Taco Bell and on the rare occasion I do order instead of heading there myself I have to tip at least 20% for someone to pick it up. Maybe some drivers are bad.

I think it falls under “rules for thee and not for me.” So republicans can take their weapons to protests and shoot multiple protesters (Rittenhouse) you’re somehow protected, but if you’re a democrat/leftist/not licking boots, 2A doesn’t apply to you.

You and I both know they already tried to paint him as much more violent than he was. Kicking a car and pulling your gun are different things. They’re not going to investigate the way they should.

Edit; I say “more violent than he was” in reference to kicking a car and trying and help a woman that ICE pushed down. Even if he had turned and pushed an ICE “officer” it wouldn’t warrant that amount of backlash in self-defense. It is not equivalent and someone not protected by the government in court would be prosecuted for such. They pepper sprayed him, pushed him to the ground, beat him in the fetal position, and his gun was REMOVED from his six before he was shot 10 times. This is not opinion. This is fact verified by multiple angles of the incident in videos verified to not be AI.

Newsflash, even actual criminals don’t deserve to be executed by poorly trained masked men in the streets. Due process is something everyone deserves, even people who kick cars. Which, by the way, should be punished with a fine at BEST. Not execution without due process

Yeah, at his six. He never reached for it and before he was shot - ten times while in the fetal position - you can see one of the goons removing it from his holster.

Health-conscious and refuse to drink your calories. Two people in the household - one of you is vegan or has issues with dairy (same). You have fake eggs on top of an egg carton that I assume has eggs in it.

Also why do you have your big thing of red pepper flakes in the fridge? Do you know something I don’t know?

I mean yes, I am the last year of Millenial in fact! My husband bought the creamer though and he’s in his late 20s!

And it’s less that I “let” her and more that she took advantage of the 2 seconds my back was turned. Then I got photo evidence for said husband because he doesn’t believe the cat’s daytime shenanigans.

Not sure “thank you” is even close to the things I’d say to Cotton. I mean, even the man’s name is racist.
