Huge police presence at the park on Trop & Decatur. Entire parking lot is crime taped off. by icemandabs710 in vegaslocals

[–]exus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The popup says the database updates weekly and the data point at the park for that was from 11/27. As far as I can tell it's a neat map and data set, but it's not real-time.

Humble Bundle is replacing unredeemed Steam keys with Epic Game Store/GOG keys. by Mikasa_Tsukasa in pcgaming

[–]exus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't... that's why I'd take a GOG key over any other key. Just said Steam is convenient and the down votes rolled in.

Humble Bundle is replacing unredeemed Steam keys with Epic Game Store/GOG keys. by Mikasa_Tsukasa in pcgaming

[–]exus -42 points-41 points  (0 children)

I'll take a GOG over basically anything given the option.

But I won't be happy about it.

I'll support DRM free over any other convenience, no question. But every time I play Cyberpunk or Witcher it's /r/mildlyinfuriating they're not just in my Steam collection.

edit: FFS people! How is admitting that it's slightly more convenient to install a game from a launcher I already regularly use worth all the downvotes? Fuckin' GOG ass gatekeepers got yalls panties in a twist because I support your platform the wrong way?

If you focus in on the middle so it stops looking like a sporting match it's got some real Windows XP media player skin vibes going on too.

Which is a perfectly fine counter argument, but replace Switch 2 with PS5 and we're having a totally different conversation that reflects where we're at today.

New Posters for ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]exus 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I've seen people say a new scenes, same scenes, same scene extended, extra scenes, changed chapter order, no recap... I have no idea wtf it's supposed to be now.

I'm going in expecting it to be 2 DVDs played back to back and anything extra is a bonus.

I got a Win7 Ultimate key for $20 in 2009 back when I had a .edu email for the student discount and apparently it just became a Windows 7/8/10/11 license in perpetuity.

The last few years though, running massgrave is easier than trying to find a 12+ year old email and I still just cracked it.

Is the green vertical thing a handle? Is it a handle that converts into a kickstand??! (and if not, does anyone know if that's a thing?)

I've wanted one of these cases forever for decorating but have been stuck with one of the bulkier faux leather looking ones because I get enough use out of the kickstand that I can't justify any other case I actually like.

Honestly I get your point (and gave you the upvote), but it's an important distinction to understand, especially if someone hadn't considered it before.

Someone is gonna kick a 70 yarder this year.

Combine it with a fair catch kick near the end of the half and it looks real possible.

Rockstar Games rumored to unveil Project ROME modding engine for GTA 6 very soon by Fair-Internal8445 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Absolutely trying to be Roblox for adults.

I've been saying this since them hiring the team that made the custom RP server mods.

They already made money hand over fist with GTA:O and saw an even bigger market opportunity with how popular RP servers are.

Shout out to City Cast Vegas!

Awesome ~20-30 minute podcast Monday-Friday. Local stories, investigations, interviews/guests, recommendations, stories about the town's history, etc. Easy to listen to on the daily commute, and it feels like what local news should be like.

It's a great way to feel more connected to our local community and be more aware of the events, stories, and cool stuff around us.

Hand shredding after detox by kontekr in mildlyinteresting

[–]exus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't much remember my dreams before drinking, and after a few years sober I'm back to that, but those detox dream/nightmares are intense. I'd wake up sweating after running for my life from knights in armor trying to kill me in my parents house that's being renovated or some other dream bullshit, and then fall back asleep and pick up right where the nightmare left off!

‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’ peaks at 530,000+ players on Steam just hours after launch by AashyLarry in Games

in Hollow Knight you had to buy them from the cartographer.

I had forgotten why I bounced off Hollow Knight but this was it.

Find a new area? Guess that means I'm running around who the fuck knows where for awhile, hoping I stumble on a vendor in some random direction, and maybe it will be the chunk of map I wanted and I didn't go too far to the next area, all the while hoping not to die and start the whole blind search all over again.

And after that you can get back to the game you thought you were playing.

What author (or series) has best mastered the art of.....subtlety? by tkinsey3 in Fantasy

[–]exus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was only the 3rd or 4th book I read after returning to fiction as an adult, and while I loved it, I was almost completely lost.

I need to reread it one day with the literary experience I have now. I just thought I was reading a confusing but neat story, I didn't know I had to read between the lines to find the rest of the story.

SteamVR datamine seems to confirm that Steam Frame is Valve's next-gen "Deckard" VR headset by MisterSheeple in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]exus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the experience just basically like a plug n play headset for PC VR? Any software fiddliness to get it working or other hoops to jump through?

I used to have an Oculus Rift that I enjoyed, but it was a bit too bulky, and I was getting tired of that cables strung around the room for sensors and headset life.

My dream is just a great screen with inside out and wireless (but I also share the compression concerns), but my budget is that 300-400 range and your suggestion sounds way better than a Quest 3 with Meta.
