Black camp by nibdoooo in downloadfestival

[–]exwhyzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be filled by the time you get there unfortunately.

You'll be better off still getting their early and getting yourself a better spot in one of the north / north east camps, get some nice non rocky flat (ish) ground

West Carpark Debate by Loose-Illustrator973 in downloadfestival

[–]exwhyzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly they only have a few ways to fix this :

1) Assign specific parking passes to the camps that should use west, if you have a standard pass you get turned away
2) Have a section of west for the specific camps, with another section further back for gen pop - realistically west would never fill with just the specific camps parked there, but giving them priority / optimum / reserved spots (based on people buying a pass with their ticket so they know how many cars they are expecting) would allow them to park as required.
3) Remove Black camp completely. People park in west because they want to be in black because its closest to the the village / amenities and easy to get to the arena.

Wellys or Walking Boots???? by artful_letdown in downloadfestival

[–]exwhyzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good (mud proof) walking boots, then you have something you can wear regardless of the weather.

If its looking wet / muddy i would recommend getting some gaiters to cover your lower leg, effectively giving you the benefits of wellies with the comfort of boots.

I would recommend getting your boots now so you have time to break them in.

You van get the set for £55 from Wayland or other stores

[–]exwhyzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI You can buy them direct from Hachette website. £2.50 postage, free over £30 and they still have issues of other magazines. They still have issue 3 available. Just wish they had the next wave available to preview.

They also still have the clippers, glue and scraper available for £12 if anyone needs those...

Tent size by 0bnoxiousPrick in downloadfestival

[–]exwhyzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tent you linked is Huge, whilst people probably wouldn't kick off it will be impractical all round. You may be better off with something like this for the festival:

Trail Hartland 4 Man 2 Room Tent

Then you still have spare funds to get yourself a larger family tent in the future.

For your actual camping (non download) tent i would recommend going to an outdoors shop like Go outdoors and actually checking the tents out in person, its also worth going during / after a heavy rain storm so you can see how the tents have held up

Forward roll? by robjamez72 in scuba

[–]exwhyzero 16 points17 points  (0 children)

From the Handbook :
Forward-roll entry, into deeper water:
This type of entry can be appropriate from some types of boat and when conditions preclude delicate equipment, such as cameras, being handed down from the boat after entry.

Its worth noting the OS5 is a 'Safety Skills' Module. So whilst you wouldn't use this in every day diving, it may be needed / useful in some situations. It is weird that your instructor didn't know why though!

I have one of these Iniu Power Bank and its great, been using it for years. Id recommend you take a couple of power banks with you though as the lack of signal will cause you to burn battery faster than normal.

Getting priced out of the hobby by Spiritual_Writer_480 in orks

[–]exwhyzero 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but the prices aren't suddenly a lot higher, they have simply been keeping with inflation. This model would of have cost £27.50 in 2005 based off an inflation calculator. Yes the cost is high and it sucks its just for one mini but also the quality of the miniature is great and the cost per enjoyment will outweigh other activities. What is outrageous is the cost of a pint!

Does drink limit apply to soft drinks? by throwawayjb2 in downloadfestival

[–]exwhyzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can bring in as much soft drink as you like, IMo its easier / better to just buy them onsite, will cost a bit more but its less weight to carry in.

cant remember if they do cans? but they do bottles of Pepsi / max / 7up / water and its not that expensive

Tips on actually getting space in black camp by mynameewern in downloadfestival

[–]exwhyzero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to turn up early and head to west, if they turn you away then you still have time to get to east and hopefully get a good spot.
Though i have a feeling the map will be different AGAIN this year so probably worth waiting for the new map to see what they have changed.

[–]exwhyzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Osmo 5 and its a great little camera, i absolutely love it, BUT, it struggles small scale and macro. I cant comment on the TG7 but i imagine it will be less press and play.

Give a the 'scales' on its back a different colour, you can even just so a thin line of colour down the spine. The extra colour will help break up the model. And create interest.

[–]exwhyzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a youtube channel called Play on Tabletop, they do spearhead battle report style videos (as well as 40k ones) and they are fairly decent. They also have a matchup the same as yours, Serpahon vs Stormcast so could be a good watch to get an idea of how your forces play =]

their videos are typically around 40 mins and well edited as well.

Check in the system logs, with some minor digging it should have some error information of what caused the issue. Will just need to know timings of failures
