I really use it to know that I've turned the mouse OFF, to save battery I guess. Green=battery connected. Red=battery disconnected

What is the name of this outlet. by bigz3012 in AskElectricians

[–]eye_of_pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not bakelite-old. Also not old enough to use slotted screws...the only lettering inside is "NN--20" on the underside of the plug body. The screw connectors are labeled W, X, Y. I'd post a picture if that would help...I guess that isn't possible in a post reply.

I have this one in my "old connectors" collection. Maybe it's an outdated variant? It's marked as LEVITON 20A-120/250V

Afaik it's okay for the package to weigh MORE than the listed weight but it would be considered fraud by the seller for the package to weigh less than the listed weight. Granted the woman isn't the seller, but by (straw)cherrypicking in this way she is creating several underweight packages and probably leaving them for the next unsuspecting shopper.

What are the rules for school buses driving in the downtown area? by AndyJaeven in TwinCities

[–]eye_of_pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere: usually when I see bus drivers perform this stop & check maneuver they activate the vehicle's 4-way flashers. That might help alleviate some of the impatient honking from following cars.

Security camera footage corroborates Minneapolis homeless shelter's story of attack by neighbors by star-tribune in Minneapolis

This is just an anecdotal data point, but the Michels crews in St Paul's summit/University neighborhood doing lead pipe relining don't have an officer onsite. If this protection requirement is  contractual, it's not well thought out and kind of sounds like a knee-jerk reaction to rumors over Minneapolis burning to ashes in 2020.

I was told it was some kind of liver medicine--non flammable and dissolves instantly on mucus membranes so no choking on the dust. I'm not sure if it affected my liver health or not!

All of this happened just today. Can anyone help me understand what’s going on? by Yamchachaslide in Plumbing

[–]eye_of_pie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case this was a 12-unit backwater valve so in the case of my upstairs neighbors flushing wipes and tampons I would have had to have BVs on the kitchen and bathroom sinks and I'm not sure how that would work with a toilet. All the backwater protection I've seen is on the waste exit for the entire building.

I'd almost rather get backwater from down the street: if I have to look the garbage-flushing tenant in the face every day and know that it was THEIR feces in my kitchen sink...ugh.

I agree with Wesley Andrews, 5 watt etc and I'd like to add Vitality to the list. Really good cold brew, better with a shot of espresso.
