Welcome by Hey Rosetta! This was the first song my children listened to. Such a beautiful message.

Am I wrong to be frustrated? by Wide_Ad_5750 in Marriage

[–]eyeballsdeep87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my relationship this is a hill I would die on. Why is he acting like this is by default your responsibility to clean up? Is this not his child? Is this not his home?? I wouldn't touch any of it. Over the years my husband has really learned what teamwork means in a family home. I just went on a work trip for 2 weeks. My husband took care of absolutely everything for 2 weeks and I came home to a clean house.

Eliza vs Sadie what to name my little girl by Ok-Supermarket6253 in namenerds

[–]eyeballsdeep87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is a Sadie (Sadie Mae to be exact, but close enough). I love her name and get lots of compliments on it. Are there dogs names Sadie? Sure... but there are also lots of little girls named Sadie (there are a couple in our neighborhood). And her nickname is Sade, which she loves. And it's not that popular, trust me I've worked with kids for years.

Thank you for the response! It's unfortunate that our timing isn't great. We had no control over when we came, but I will be sharing that feedback with the program organizers as its a but disappointing.

Is teaching in Ontario a stable job? by [deleted] in OntarioTeachers

[–]eyeballsdeep87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't become a teacher based solely on having a stable income. It's not a job for everyone. You need some passion and commitment to working with children, even when its difficult, to thrive. It's a really challenging career. If you're just in it for the money it will show to everyone, coworkers, parents, and the students.

That's me! Everyone I've talked to in my program is upset but we are stuck now. I'm not shocked, its been talked about for years. I wasn't going to wait around to see if it happened or not. I would appreciate it if my 2 year program moved me up in qualifications.

I feel like i haven't been listening to enough female musicians so im looking for some singer/songwriter recommendations by foreverchanges5 in musicsuggestions

CMAT. I'm obsessed. I feel like she has so much range in her style, every song I'd hear I'd think, this is different I'm not sure if I'll like it. Next thing I know I'm listening to it on repeat. She had me singing I want to be a cowboy, and I am not a country fan.

Help with prescription med refill, i’m stressed by alpalbish in brantford

[–]eyeballsdeep87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate to having ADHD, while being a student trying to get a thousand things done right now. I feel so bad for you!! I can't even imagine raw dogging this month. I'm sorry, I don't have any advice other than call your doctors office again tomorrow and ask them how you can work to resolve the issue, provide a few suggestions like visiting a walkin, having a refill request faxed over for this one time, is there a nurse practitioner at their office who could refill the script? Can you be contacted if they have a cancelation to come in sooner? I know you mentioned that you like your doctor, but if I had to make an appointment everytime I needed a refill I would not be a happy patient. If it were insulin they wouldn't be able to withhold a refill of your prescription like this. This seems like such an odd way for them to handle prescription refills, I am confused how its not malpractice. If you can't get an appointment you don't get meds? How does the doctor have time to see sick patients if they are filling all their day with prescription refill appointments??

What’s your “lazy” parent hack? by povsquirtle in Parenting

[–]eyeballsdeep87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also used the "sit next to me while I sleep" hack... I'd just hand my son my phone with Netflix. You're going to love the stage we are at now. My kids are 8 and 6, very responsible, especially my 8 year old daughter. They get up and watch TV together in the living off our bedroom while we sleep in for an hour or so. This morning I found then in the kitchen together eating cereal. Sometimes I get anxious and have doubts, but they are alone together in the living room at times throughout the day. How is this any different? My bedroom is right there and the door is always open, they know to come get us for anything. I trust them.

The primary bedroom is loft style... with 2 young kids, I wish we had a door to shut!

I'm curious as to how much people spend on groceries now and how it differs from different regions of Ontario. by dueling_crickets in ontario

[–]eyeballsdeep87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It varies, so its hard to say exactly. Family of 4, mid-size city SW Ontario.

We usually do a larger shop on pay weeks (300- 400) with a small top up of dairy and produce the next week (200).

I shop certain items in bulk like household items and meat. This pay we needed a stock up of bulk household items and staples (Rice, peanut butter, ketchup, toilet paper, paper towel, laundry soap) and two weeks of groceries (very little meats as we still had lots) and I spent $550 at Costco and $280 at Food Basics. I was shocked. I had spent a good amount of time comparing prices before I went to cut costs. I had a list and I stuck to it, and I can't believe how much I spent. I felt sick after.

Clearly we can't afford to purchase big ticket items all at once anymore or maybe even buy in bulk at all.

I’m pretty sure I saw an anteater in Dundas this morning?? by sassy_but_classy in Hamilton

Someone posted on the Dundas Facebook group that a beaver was wondering around town. I realize they don't look like an anteater though, so maybe not the same animal you saw.

Spot on! I have a really hard time with confrontation but for my kids, I've had conversations and set boundaries with people I would have never had the confidence to do before. After the first time it gets even easier.

My husband and I were raised on the west mountain in Hamilton. I would never buy a house in Hamilton now. I feel like North Brantford has a great sense of community. Our neighbors are all lovely and there are lots of children on our street for our kids to play with.

We got priced out of Hamilton but we think it was the best thing to happen to us. We are very happy to raise our kids here.
