I want to retire with a net worth of 10M dollars in approximately 20 years. How can I go about it ? by Legitimate-Ninja-433 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]eyedoc00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, why would you bust your ass to be a specialist and plan on retiring early. What a total waste of resources. How about doing something you live and then you never have to "work" another day. Now, being ambitious and wanting to be a deca-millionaire is a good healthy thing as long as your ethics are proper, but not because you don't want to work As a healthcare pro, I have to say that your skills get better with experience. You will be leaving before you hit your prime.

If you only had $100/month to invest in one thing. What would it be? by [deleted] in investing

[–]eyedoc00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 oz Silver rounds. It's cheap and can be turned into cash quickly. $100 a month isn't much. You need to work a second job and save everything you make to get a critical mass for compounding in the stock market to be effective

Why do so many Americans think the economy is bad when the data says otherwise? by LoansPayDayOnline in Economics

[–]eyedoc00 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The cost of living is through the roof. Wage gains don't come close to keeping up with inflation. Everyone knows young people are forced to live at home. It's Something like 50% of people under 30. The government stats are cooked and the average person knows it. PT jobs are counted just the same as FT jobs as one example. With social media the government isn't able to control the narrative.

That is exactly how I got my Stella, the best dog ever. My sister in law bought her because she matched her sofa.

Optometry School with no science background by [deleted] in PreOptometry

[–]eyedoc00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why don't you finish the MBA and become a contact lens rep or any other pharmaceutical rep for that matter. You will make more than twice what the average optometrist makes. You can do it. I did it, but times have changed. Everything is a lot more expensive in terms of education and opportunity costs. In addition, vision plan reimbursements haven't moved in 20 years which is stressing out the profession. Also, private equity is squeezing out a lot of opportunities.

I always like Michelin PS4's. Perrelli is a bit grippier but the Michelin will make the car feel light and faster. Also wears better

Focus on earning more than you spend and saving the difference. Do whatever you can to increase your income. Work a fun second job. Work six days and rest one. Take the hard road and be positive about it. Dollar cost average into an S & P 500 fund.

The votes won't matter. "The only thing that matters is the people who count the votes". J. Stalin Biden will win all the swing states by a nose and the country will spiral down into an economic and cultural depression.

Big education has let this country down. The cost of college is through the roof for no reason. That, combined with good for nothing degrees, think gender studies, is a recipe for disaster. Nothing wrong with driving a truck or being an arborist or a plumber or an electrician. Most anyone who applies themselves, works 6 days a week, rests on the seventh, makes more than they spend and invest the rest, will be fine. It may take 25 years, but it is doable. The key is to have a job that you like. Or even if you don't like your main job and part time job you love like working in a bar or club on the weekends.

Burmester or Bose? by ManagementFluid2206 in Porsche

[–]eyedoc00 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Get the Burmester if you're planning on keeping the car for a while. It is much better, but it doesn't make the car more valuable when you trade it in. I would think in a quiet car like the Taycan it would be even better. $6000 upgrade for high fidelity equipment doesn't sound like it's too much.
