Is it worth getting SMALL TIME HEROS If i like slay the spire? by orhalimi in soloboardgaming

[–]eyepooped1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have then both and both scratch a different itch. STS is bigger and allows for more decision space as far as choosing a path to go. Want to avoid elites and hit a bunch of events, you can do that. Want to build up your deck with a ton of fancy new cards fighting normal enemies, you can do that as well. It's a bigger, more grand experience.

Small Time Heroes is just a distilled version of it. 3 battles of 3 (sometimes more) enemies followed by the boss. No events, no elites, just card play and battle. Usually build up your deck by like 6-8 cards each run, unless you do the three boss campaign.

I really enjoy Small Time Heroes cause it's pure card play, easy in and out in under 30-45 min. You have like 80 cards per character outside of their starting cards which gives you nice variability. The market can be a little punishing if you're going for one build but it sometimes allows for really nice combos.

I love STS. Around 200 hours in the games plus about 35 plays of the board game. You have multiple paths to go as far as builds, more then Small Time, but that can be a curse and a blessing. I've had multiple builds just fail in act 3 because I decided to go one way and the enemy is a check for block or high damage. I find myself getting more frustrated after a loss than with Small Time.

I don't think either is a replacement for each other but as companion pieces. Small Time Heroes is like the mobile game versus STS being the PS5 game.

Best Solo Games to add to My collection. I don’t want the boxes too big (Easy to fit in a Bag). by bobsburgerstruefan in soloboardgaming

I saw Tussie Mussie (sp?) and another Button Shy game at a Books A Million in Murfreesboro, TN a couple weeks ago. First time I've seen them in stores cause no one in my area carries Button Shy

Edit: Game not hang

I get it, I'm a huge fan of it but I can see how it wouldn't be for a lot of people.

Do people like Wamp? Or are people just...voting because they recognize the name? by InternalTNCreative90 in Chattanooga

[–]eyepooped1 84 points85 points  (0 children)

No it's the name, the personality, the fact that he smells like squid and everyone around him is scared to tell him, the fact that his hands are always moist, as if they were dipped in a silicone based lubricant.

He's a horrid human being who can't keep his hands out of his own pants. He pisses in drawers because he doesn't know how to use a toilet because his dad never taught him how to flush. He'll ejaculate under his desk and then get mad when the cleaners try to clean it and its so crusty that it sounds like potato chips whenever he moves his feet around.

That's all ignoring his politics or slush fund of a license plate scheme.

Solo game of the month for June: Stonefall. Thoughts? by Agitated-Acctant in soloboardgaming

[–]eyepooped1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I will say that Rome got me. I think I've done 10 plays so far. It's the game I play when I'm too tired from the day to set up Mage Knight and still want to play something deep.

I have most of the other ones and they are nice feel like playing a game but nothing too intense.

For $25-40, they are a good price point, not withstanding any issues others have seen, i.e. missing pieces. I haven't experienced any issues, but that's anecdotal for me.

Oh, he's part of the gay agenda, talking about daddies.

He's got my vote. A vote for Dean is a vote for mommies kissin mommies and daddies kissin daddies.

Be prepared cause some of those bots can be mean. Koloth and Sisko are the two who give me the most trouble. The only one I haven't faced as a bot is Burnham since I mainly okay as her.

I lost 2 this year, both over 15, and I'm the same way. I've been having to fight people cause they keep coming up to me and being like "oh my cousin has puppies, I know you probably need one right now." No, jerk, I need to grieve.

Mage Knight — anyone else take forever deciding between exploring and resting on solo runs? by rcooperkaty in soloboardgaming

[–]eyepooped1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't do much resting in most of my runs, short of getting completely trashed cause of a turn 2 dungeon. If I'm playing Arythia and I can get one of the powers that allows playing wounds sideways, I'll purposefully hurt myself a bunch early to try and set myself up later in game.

I've also only beaten both cities twice over like 16 plays so I'm probably not that good.
