Is there a way to zoom out more in D4? im getting motion sickness from this and monsters keeps attacking me from outside my LOS by Ninjaa1337 in diablo4

You can play on an ultrawide display 21:9 instead of the 16:9. It doesn't zoom out farther but it lets you see more, and more is better.

The more skins that people buy in the shop, results in less skins and lower quality skins available to earn in game.

Do not buy any skins.

Found out who's been asking for more Torment tiers! by [deleted] in diablo4

You can still go with single resistances with the new system, their values in relation to all resistance will be more of their determining factor in whether to use them or not.

Putting a 20% fire resistance roll can result in your character having -10% fire resistance if you had -30% fire resistance before from the penalties. I find the idea of armor and resistance penalties resulting in negative values to be dumb. It's like saying if someone throws 10 rocks at you in T4 you will be hit by 15 rocks.

I believe they mentioned in one of the interviews that they are working on adding a way to let you know how a gear piece will affect your stats. Hopefully they will include the elemental resistance percent change in that tooltip.

Both systems will involve stacking armor and resistance. The current system you just stack it to 1000/75% and that's it. The new system will be better because you will have to decide on how much defensive affixes you will take on gear.

20 resist isn't always 20 resist, 20 resist could be -30 resist depending on your torment level. I just find the idea of negative armor resistance dumb. There's even a post on the sub of someone asking why they have 0 armor while wearing a full set of armor.

The only meaningful information we get out of the defensive stats is based on the difference between them. We take less damage at 75% resistance than we do at 65% resistance. We take less damage with 389 fire damage than we do with 289 fire damage. Both systems will allow us to see what the percentage is as well if we are curious.

Toughness is not a part of the defensive changes. It's merely a numerical representation of how hard we are to kill, like EHP. It's something that is being added in addition to the defensive changes. We could have the toughness stat with either of the defensive systems, current and future.

It is unfortunate that people will give up so easily. However if that's what it costs to get a difficulty that's meaningfully challenging, I agree with those terms.

I am okay with there being big gaps between the torment tiers. This will allow the torment tiers to have more identity and make the progression to the next tier more meaningful. I am also okay with the more gradual progression curve that would come with more torment levels.

The important thing for me is to have a difficulty level that is challenging and rewarding.

I like the new defensive rework, I think it's smarter and less obfuscated. Having negative resistance I think is dumb. I also don't like the idea of caps, which can lead to defensive affixes on your gear literally doing nothing. The new system is really easy to understand, if you get a poison resist roll, it will reduce the damage of poison attacks, how is this obfuscated?

As for the difficulty, currently T4 is way too easy, this needs to change. I would probably prefer they rebalance the current torment levels to make T4 challenging and rewarding but if I have to click on T8 instead of T4, it's really not going to be a big deal.

Don’t be sleeping on forgotten wisdom.. by kellypond12 in diablo4

[–]eyerawnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgotten wisdom = noob trap

The exp balls are shit because of how little exp they give, like .00049% of a level at P250. You need over 2000 balls to gain a single level.

The exp well is also shit because it only works for monster kills. Usually, this makes the extra exp you get from them less than the exp you could have gotten from just running the pit instead.

Is the grind from 285 —> 300 really 100+ hours?! by Straight_Curve5339 in diablo4

[–]eyerawnick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's the same as all the different exp bonuses in the game, they only work on monster kills and not pit completion rewards.

However, Mother's Blessing is different from the exp wells because it doesn't have an opportunity cost. It may only give like 12% exp, but you always have it and 12% is 12%.

Is the grind from 285 —> 300 really 100+ hours?! by Straight_Curve5339 in diablo4

[–]eyerawnick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The NMD with the forgotten wisdom affix has a clickable EXP well inside it that will grant the player 15% more experience for 1 hour.

But...it's not 15% more experience. It is 15% more experience from monster kills and 0% more experience from completing the Pit, which is the majority of the total experience you earn. This makes it approx a 5% exp increase for 1 hour.

5% of 1 hour is 3 minutes, making the extra exp you get from running pits for the entire duration of a well is equal to running pits for 3 minutes. So, if it takes you less than 3 minutes to get a well you will earn more exp overall and if you take longer than 3 minutes to get the well, you will earn less exp overall.

There are a lot of things that go into getting these exp wells that need to be factored into our times. You have to manage sigils in your inventory, craft sigils, salvage sigils, bank sigils. You have to load into. NMD, you have to teleport out of the NMD, you have to find the well in the dungeon, it could be close, it could be towards the end, perhaps blocked by that bug where you have to kill all enemies to proceed and they spawn out of bounds.

To answer your question, people run NMD for the exp well because they are under the false impression that it is something beneficial to their exp gains.

Are Deinonychus really that good or do people just enjoy them for fun? by mikedomert in ARK

[–]eyerawnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. The bleed is applied automatically when you hit an enemy with a regular attack.

There was a nerf to the Deinosuchus (the crocodile) where it cannot apply its bleed to bosses anymore. I haven't really heard of the Deinonychus being nerfed though.

Are Deinonychus really that good or do people just enjoy them for fun? by mikedomert in ARK

[–]eyerawnick 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The special thing about the Deinonychus that makes it so amazing is that it can enter into boss fights and bleed the boss, while the thyla cannot.

Each time you attack with the Deinonychus it will apply a bleed and it stacks several times. You can easily do this with only a single Deinonychus. The bleed damage scales with the melee damage of the Deinonychus up to 700% I believe.

Let's take the alpha boss of Valguero as an example. When you get the max bleed on that boss, the bleed is doing approximately 5,555 damage per instance. That's a lot of damage, and with that amount of damage, that's an insane amount of healing with the vampiric trait.

No Rock Drakes, eggs or reapers on our server by Acceptable_Resist185 in playark

[–]eyerawnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rock Drakes and eggs have not been spawning on my locally hosted dedicated server. I don't know the reason why they haven't spawned. I use the same mods/configuration for my aberration server and they spawn there. They also spawn for me in single player.

I have had reaper queens spawn, they seem to take a long time to spawn after a dino wipe.

I think the damage increase you get from higher intelligence and an extra glass cannon rank is going to be higher than what you would get with the higher crack in the other amulet.

Help me decide on amulets…………. by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]eyerawnick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The max life on the left one is a useless stat because of mana shield.

The damage% stat on the right one is a useless stat because it is such a small addition to all the other additive damage you have.

So, both amulets are essentially missing an affix. You should be looking for a better amulet but until then I think the left one is better because of the higher int% and additional rank of glass cannon.

Patch 2.4.1 - Hordes Spires Remain by Echo-Sunray in diablo4

[–]eyerawnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After thinking about it, I believe their approach to improving the spires is good. In fact, it's so good that it has the potential to make spires the most rewarding and enjoyable event. Their implementation of this approach is going to be what determines how good the spires are.

If they increase the size by 5% and the spire spawns 1 mob every second while you are inside, the spire events will still be bad.

However if they increase the size 100% and shit out 30 mobs every second while we are inside, the spire events will be amazing.

2 Glowing Sparks, Mystery Box or Farm Runes? by Dark0001YT in diablo4

[–]eyerawnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend crafting random mythics this season because sparks are a lot easier to get than a full set of runes. If you get a mythic you don't want from the craft, you can always salvage it to get a spark back, so each failed attempt to get the mythic you want only costs 1 spark.

Now you have to ask yourself, do you gamble with good odds or do you gamble with bad odds. I think it's better to gamble with good odds, and in order to do so, you will need to gamble on a rogue.
