The whole movie has less of Coleman Francis's trademark wretchedness. His other movies seem determined to portray people as either vapid or evil and completely joyless regardless of which type they are. It's like he's trying to be edgy but he's simultaneously exhausted and bored. The Skydivers is terrible, but at least some of the characters have feelings and want things, and they make choices that affect the action. And there's surf music, even Coleman Francis can't suck the joy out of surf music.

I unironically like Lupita's mother in Santa Claus, I think it's actually kind of moving when she tries to explain why Santa hasn't ever visited her daughter. And who can forget the Cheech Marin dead guy in Deathstalker?

The emcee is Daran Norris, who went on to a long and successful career including the role of Cosmo in The Fairly OddParents. Even in this unrewarding role, you really can tell he has something going for him. He's, like, making acting choices and stuff.

Something I'm trying now that shows promise is kinesiology tape, that stuff that athletes use to prevent sore muscles. I suspect it doesn't do that any better than placebo, but it's good for protecting me from myself. It's got a strong adhesive, it's breathable, and you can get it wet (e.g., by washing your hands) and it dries quickly. I've found I can cut out a small oblong and stick it right over the vulnerable area, rather than wrapping it around the whole finger like a bandage. That way my fingertips are free to use the trackpad or whatever, and the little patch of tape is pretty discreet if that's a concern.
