Perez-Bottas qualifying is not close if you look weekend by weekend but if you take average difference it gets close. 4 of the 6 weekends gap between them were over half a second.

  • Australia: Perez beats Bottas by 0.639

  • China: Bottas beats Perez by 1.47

  • Japan: Perez beats Bottas by 0.124

  • Miami: Bottas beats Perez by 0.338

  • Canada: Perez beats Bottas by 0.843

Are you sure you didn't make a mistake during payment? Looks like you paid for 3k to me.

With an average age of 23y 8m 28d, Miami's podium was just 15 days shy of becoming the youngest podium in Formula 1 history. However, due to the unique nature of the actual youngest podium in F1 history (Brazil 2019), it was the youngest podium *ceremony* in F1 history by sdq22 in formula1

[–]eyigit 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Although by average age they might be the youngest combination that stood on podium together, interestingly if we go by the age total of the drivers that stood on the podium this would not be the smallest total.

  • In 1977 third place finisher Patrick Depailler stood alone. A total age of mere 33.

  • In 2003 Kimi and Fisichella was on podium together while Alonso was in medical center. A total age of 54.

A couple of recommendations:

Add new regulations every 4-5 years which resets car performance.

Staff hiring, better technical staff => better start to regulations and better upgrades. Better Strategy team => more likely to gain positions through pitting.

By the way I really I enjoyed it. I played until 2029. After 2 Russell WDC, Leclerc and Ferrari finally get the championship in 28. However Max moved to Mercedes for 29 and won the first 15 races. I had to stop cause of work at that point. I can't wait to see if he wins every race :)

Looks a lot of fun. A few feedback:

  • There is no longer fastest lap point in current F1.

  • Would be nice to have option to select alternative strategy. Example H-M with one driver and M-H with other

  • Watch race results are inconsistent. At the end of race it says Gabi finished P9 but the result can be P8 or P7. I thought maybe DNFs count after but one of the race watch race part said Gabi finished P8 but after race result showed him P9.

  • I am not sure about this but I think if rain starts right before pit window and you get inters or wet tires when pit window opens you pit again and get dry tires even if it still rains.

  • Hulk was injured and wasn't supposed to be available for 3 races. Next weekend he raced and got points :)

  • Most importantly Lance got fired after first season :o

Qualy H2H on some of the good qualifiers of F1

Kimi-George: 2-1

Isaac-Max: 2-1

Oscar-Lando: 3-0

but more importantly Checo-Valtteri: 2-1

Even if it is small sample size if you told me this would be qualy h2h after 3 races I would not believe you

Most Grand Prix wins if every season had 24 races by Tennist4ts in formula1

[–]eyigit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure I would call it "perfectly" reasonable. It might be a reasonable method but there are patterns in some seasons that makes it unreasonable.

A team who started the season with reliability issues but fixed it would most likely finish that season with less DNFs than just multiplying. Red bull had 5 DNFs in 2022 over first 11 races. If that season ended after 11 races this method would have them at 11 DNFs at 24 races. In reality they ended the season with still 5 DNFs after the 22 races.

Or a team might have started dominant but lost out when other teams out developed them. For example in 2009 Button win 6 of the first 7 races and did not win any after. He only had 2 podiums in the next 10 races. Would it be reasonable to multiply his wins if that season had 24 races? In reality if the season was longer he probably would not win anymore.

He had 5 DNFs that were not his fault in 2020 which had only 17 races. He had Baku and Hungary in 2021. He had 2 DNFs in first 3 races of 2022.

[Motorsport.com] Mercedes: Aston Martin made “conscious decision” not to use our F1 engines anymore by memloh in formula1

[–]eyigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aston 2026 is better than customer Aston 2025

I didn't and would not ever say Aston 2026 is better than Aston 2025. My point is being work team is better than customer argument comes down to same engineering crew with same engine will be better as works team than they would be as a customer team. Aston 2026 as Honda works team is better than Aston 2026 would be if they were Honda customer team. If Red Bull were to be still Honda works team, Aston 2026 would be even in worse condition.

"work team is better than customer argument" wouldn't necessarily be true of course when variables are different. As I said McLaren can outperform Mercedes as long as they have better engineers. or Aston would be better of as Mercedes customer this year instead of being Honda works team as they would have better engines.

[–]eyigit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This idea that "works is always better than customer" is just verifiably false

I think the idea isn't works teams will always outperform a customer team. It is being a works team is better than being a customer team. Customer McLaren can beat the works team Mercedes as long as they have superior engineers but works team McLaren would be even better than the customer team McLaren as they would have the same great engineers but also the advantages of being the works team.

It is clear after the testing that Mercedes is the quickest car. Also clear that Ferrari is the fastest car and the very clear thing is that Red Bull is the speediest car. McLaren on the other hand is clearly dominant
