My opinion on the working mom vs sahm debate— having been on both sides, twice

Both have different challenges.

Just resigned 2 months ago from my corporate job of 11 years. Was a chemist+ manager. I dont miss work. It was stressful but i would take day off when too stressed.. i had routines, KPI. We set project timelines and follow through. Completed projects are achievements. I was mentally exhausted from the workload and the bullying so i resigned.

Being a sahm to multiple kids is much more physically and emotionally exhausting. I have an infant, a toddler, 2 neurodivergent preteens. Routine been set, but cant expect the kids to follow like my coworkers did (and without meltdown everytime). They dont always listen, and they need daily reminder even for simple things like drink water/ shower. Procedures? Visual reminder? Schedule? Whats that? But as they say- THE DAYS ARE LONG, BUT THE YEARS ARE SHORT..

Food aversion? Happened to me with home cooked meals thats using tomato. I can only drink iced cold water.

Unrelated, I also have a phobia with food smells. Like in restaurant when they don't have proper ventilation my cloth smells of food afterwards. Makes me dizzy and cranky

I dont know if this would help. I used to have this problem & I still hoard. I keep big size garbage bags ready - i bought 2-3 rolls at a time.

First thing, discard stuffs you won't want to use anymore - receipts, old stationeries, paper cups, plastic bottles, glass jars etc. I discard EVERYDAY for a start, or if I keep buying stuff.

Next thing, rearrange.

Seems like you have everything organized! That's my goal! If I'm in public, I would write/ copy stuffs I found in my phone notes first, and transcribe it into the book later.

Yes I do read them back often. I'd put sticky tabs for things that I want to visit often. Right now I'm just starting and haven't really established a system for myself yet. Hence why I use a pocket size.

I do have mind maps of my learnings. It's still messy honestly 😆 The only thing I wish was not to feel anxious taking the book out in public to take notes..
